The one-two punch of Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic will always be my favorite Death, but Human is not too far behind, for sure

I really don’t know why I don’t revisit this So Hideous album more, it’s really damn good!

I had a great tune for my EP for Crow and the flow was excellent. When I double checked, it was banned. That led me to replace it with another song, which I used in the Loud Round and it tanked.

What was your original EP for Crow dude? You’ll have to share it, so your hard work wasn’t for nothing.

Was listening to the Tenacious D album yesterday, it's crazy how well it holds up and sounds.

Ah yes, Tenacious D, the best So Hideous album.

 :lol

But yes, the album does hold up, it’s great.

It's literally been years since I listened to this, it's even better than I remember :metal

Not quite my favourite, but all Death albums are top tier anyway.

I was always gravitating towards Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance as well, just remembered I should revisit Human (and Individual Thought Patterns soon probably), really enjoyed it.

I certainly prefer The Sound of Perserverance, but the whole latter half of their work, once they became more progressive, is just so consistently epic.

So, yes, The Outer Limits is my favorite Voivod record. Every time I revisit it I'm reminded of how much I love it. It didn't "forget" some lessons learned on Angel Rat in terms of catchier songwriting, but it mixes them up with some of their, um, typical weirdness in a way that just reaches the perfect balance. The best Snake performance on vocals in any Voivod album, and everyone is on fire. And the 17+ minutes of Jack Luminous totally lives up to the hype. Shame this album didn't really do much for them.

As for the rest - I'd like to highlight the Black Soul Horde album. I've praised it before...it's a good one. Power/Classic metal that's more on the darker end of the spectrum, with some really tasty melodies and atmosphere. Vocals are not stellar, but they do a fine job carrying the tunes.

Ah, Wayfarer. Not their best album though. I'm much more partial to Children of the Iron Age and Old Souls.

Oh, I haven't listened to this in forever! Yep, that's a good description...the melodies are not as memorable, in general, but it's a pleasant album.

The Mayfield Four - Second Skin

I'm kind of surprised this album is over 20 years, it feels pretty modern, especially in the context of modern Alter Bridge.

First time listen to these and they're fine. One of those cases where I feel like a double album would've been better as one album instead of two.

On the other hand the new Pyramaze might be the most boring album I've heard all year.

They are solid indeed.  Correct though, a condensed 80 minute effort would have been quite killer.

I love this album.

Yeah I haven't disliked an album by Blackie yet......note that I haven't gotten around to listening to Helldorado.

Such a shame that he didn't really hit his stride as a songwriter until 1989 which is really the worst timing for an 80s metal band. I like all the albums prior but Headless Children/Crimson Idol is where things really get interesting. This was also my first listen to KFD in full. I had heard The Horror and My Tortured Eyes off it before but that was about it. Really solid and unique album in his discography. I'm glad he only did the industrial stuff once as it's usually not my thing but it really works with the angry subject matter of the album.
