Lucy Rose - No Words Left

Halfway through this album and it's fantastic. Might be my favorite album this year (album came out in 2019).

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

This is a cool batch! Other than the "obvious" highlights, I'm a big, big fan of this record. Heavy, thrashy and melodic. Not sure if I'm in the minority, but I like it way better than Worship Music, if I'm looking at the Belladonna-reunion records. In fact, I might just give it a go tonight  :)

Not sure why I picked it. I pulled up Anthrax on Spotify and just decided on that. As far as it and Worship Music, I think they're both relatively even.

It's the only Anthrax album I can get into.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Crown Lands - Fearless: Canadian duo (!)...This is interesting. The 18-minute (!!) opener is basically Rush worship. The Rush influence is generally present throughout the record, but mixed in with more "classic rock" sensibilities. Vocals are a mix of, um, Geddy Lee and maybe some Ozzy? Only one listen, but I was intrigued and will likely revisit.

I see Portnoy mentioned this band and that he liked the album. I gave it a spin. The Rush influence is in your face but it does have a charm. I've now given the album a couple of listens and it is really growing on me. Also Nick, I agree about the vocals, definitely a bit of Ozzy in there.

This Crown Lands is amazing stuff. Maybe we should create a thread just for this band/album.

Great band! I would say most old school punk can be offensive but these days it doesn't take much to offend people sadly.

It's not that I'm offended as such. It's just I find it hard now, to listen to overly misogynistic songs/bands, regardless of how good the music is. It's especially difficult if they are also referencing sex with underage girls. It just gives me the ick and ruins the enjoyment I used to get from the band.

I just don't take it serious. I love watching slasher flicks but it doesn't mean I would actually enjoy watching people get raped and slaughtered if you get my drift.
