The Way That It Is was the single that was played on MTV. Here's the video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr-xzfJp9E8

Lee Kerslake/Bob Daisley!!

Peter Goalby had a great voice.

Pretty nice song! And you gotta love those videos

A little more AOR-sounding than I'd thought, given the more hard-rocking Too Scared to Run. I guess it makes sense, seeing it was the MTV single.

Might check the album out...

Yeah, I've read that Extension of the Wish is pretty highly regarded...and you guys are confirming that. I'm going to put it in my queue and listen to it (at some point)

Abominog is nice enough. It's not heavy at all though. The follow up, Head First, with the same lineup is even lighter.

Uriah Heep's new album comes out on Friday. I love modern day Uriah Heep with Bernie Shaw on vocals. Really consistent and solid albums.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Keep in mind that EOTW original version has Lawrence Mackrory on vocals, they later rerecorded the vocals with Dave Fremberg and added bonus tracks and retitled it Extension of the Wish- the final extension. I am used to the original but I would recommend you listening to the second version since you never heard it. I'm pretty sure the second version would be easier to find anyway.

Duncan Sheik - s/t

A surprisingly rich and thoughtful collection of songs (produced by Rupert Hine even).

Hmm, violin, not operatic, eerie, haunting, sold!

Yep, you should definitely give it a try  :)

Listening right now. Right up my alley. The overall atmosphere of the album is great.

I love Andromeda. I have all of their stuff. I do like the first album with the original singer over Dave Fremberg. Maybe its because I got Extension Of The Wish when it came out and got used to it. But after time I loved it with Dave and love everything since. I wish they were still around!

Hmmm.....pretty sure I own an album from these guys.  I'll have to check.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Thank you for the info, Glasser! Is the Lawrence Mackrory you mention the same guy that sings for Darkane?!

He is.  Sweden might have the most incestuous musical scene I know.  If you've only been in 6 different bands you're really lazy.

It was 1972 at work today...

The first two are in my Top Fifty.  I gave 'Slayed' a first time listen today.  Gawd, those guys are just fun to listen to.  'Move Over' made my eyes go  :o  Noddy Holder is quite the character, always enjoy that sandpaper voice, but for him to cover Joplin was one hell of a ballsy move.  To do it so amazingly well, was a real treat.  :tup

School's Out is one of my all time favorite albums, but 1972 is easily the worst year for music in the 70's.

At least '72 had 'Close To The Edge' and Chicago V (two more Top 50 classics)

I'm feeling old now (again? ;))

Love them.  Wish they would release more than an album a decade these days, but at least we're supposed to get a new one later this year.

Yep.  March.  Looking forward to it.

I guess Thile is too damn busy to be able to commit more time to this project.

Yeah, I like his solo material, Punch Brothers, various guest spots and such, but NC just has a certain chemistry that you can't replicate elsewhere.  Though I won't complain if he can finish the collaboration with Hilary Hahn, that has the potential to be magical.

Tim, I enjoyed some UFO myself, today!

So, the Andromeda album was indeed very good. Lots of cool riffage, and sounds a bit "looser" (in a good way) vs. II=I.
