Speaking of Wilder, what do you think of his Recoil project (if you are familiar with it)? I don't think it's active anymore, but I have a couple of their albums (Unsound Methods and Liquid) and they have a pretty interesting sound/mood throughout. I haven't listened in a while, but I remember enjoying them in the early 00s, when I was more into that kind of sound...

Haven't listened to it in awhile, but I do remember enjoying it.  They just had the perfect fit of elements working together in DM, with Gore's songwriting, Gahan's vocals, and Wilder's arrangements.

I know I've mentioned the Chaos Frame album a couple of weeks ago - I find myself going back to it quite often. Just was a real nice discovery from late last year. Very good prog/power metal. Memory Garden's 1349 is brilliant, imo. Epic, melodic doom metal, slightly proggy. Great songs and, as a bonus, it sounds fantastic (mixed by none other than Dan Swano).

The Missing Link...well, it's my favorite Rage album. Heavy, crunchy and melodic, it's Rage at its "trio" best. Manni Schmidt on guitar is absolutely on fire here. What a record.

Yeah, I think half of The Obsidian Conspiracy makes more sense to listen to if you think of it as additional solo tracks with Nevermore as the backing band.
