Diamond Eyes is their best.
My controversial take is that it's on the bottom half of their discography ;D

You're in good company with Fantano then! :lol

I do think White Pony is overrated but it'd still probably be my third favorite behind Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, so definitely not bottom half. My other Deftones hot take is that Gore really isn't considerably worse than the majority of of their albums.

Deftones is a band that I honestly don't love any of their albums, but they have enough highlights across all of them for me to still be a fan. I saw them live last year and they kicked ass.
He hated Ohms tho, while I loved it :lol

Koi No Yokan is my second favorite, so good. I should revisit Gore, maybe it was better than I remember it to be.

I'm kinda on the same boat, but I've really grown to love them a lot, and you may see them soon in my list, which I should update right now...

As much as I don't like live albums pieced together from different shows, I really like this one.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Classic Metal..reminds me a bit of early Iced Earth, but with some harsh vocals.
Really nice.

7 songs..42 minutes! Perfect!!

Sounds interesting...what's the band name again? Not entirely clear from the logo  ;) (and it's not even one of those unreadable logos from brutal death metal bands )

EDIT: Found it and gave it a quick listen...pretty tasty indeed!

I got behind yesterday and didn’t have time to start honoring Jeff Beck, so I’ll start now.

Yesterday's commute...

...speaking of truly unreadable logos...the top/right album...Undeath, Lesions of a Different Kind. One of the most, dare I say it, fun "old school" death metal albums of 2020? I mean, I'm generally not an avid listener of the genre, but this manages to be classic and interesting at the same time. Almost groovy, and with riffs for days (the title-track or Acidic Twilight Visions, for example).

Dream Theater - Octavarium

An album that I don’t listen to all that much. I tend to rank it low despite how much I love the title track. But honestly, every time I put it on I say “this album is better than I remember”.

A couple of early 2023 records:

(Incidentally - Tim: how did you discover Art of Silence? I'm just checking out their Bandcamp page...looks like their are from my "hometown"...Milan, Italy)

Screamer was a fun listen. I mean, there is literally nothing here that wasn't heard before  ;) 80s Judas Priest, some Maiden...but it's in a well-done package. And the track The Traveler is real nice, with a bit of 80s AOR in there too.

Ashen's Ritual of Ash sounds like a pretty good death metal album, mostly traditional but with some nice twists.

Plus a couple of random 2022 leftovers, both pretty cool:

...and finally a bit more of an Enslaved revisit, and the Steven Wilson remix of Brave (what an album, man, what an album...)

Good stuff. I've enjoyed their 2022 album too (Under the Midnight Sun)

The Power Station - The Power Station

I always loved "Someday, Somehow, Someone's Gotta Pay" (retitled as "We Fight For Love" in Commando) and never managed to check out an album.

So, this is definitely growing on me...I had checked it out earlier when it came out, and while I found the the band very talented, I was struggling a bit to hold on to memorable moments (similar to what I felt about with their previous records). Now the melodies are starting to stick. Good stuff.

However...why is the last track (The Fall of Constantinople) not available within the album on Amazon music? It's there as a separate "single", although its length is a bit shorter than the album track. It's there on Spotify...I'm confused...

As much as I don't like live albums pieced together from different shows, I really like this one.

The songs were taken from the locations in which their footage were filmed in the documentary.  I saw them three times on that tour.  It was great!
