I keep going back to Unison Life...one late discovery from last year that was a real surprise. I've checked out Nest too, which I liked but not quite as much. Haven't tried War yet.

Correction: The album is Nest. War is the song which is my favorite of that album. Great album but not as consistent compared to Unison Life.

I would say Unison Life is their best yet. It still has the pure and raw energy of the earlier records but has more variety and sounds like they really took the time to find the best approach for each song.

Ah, yes...I didn't pay close enough attention to that myself  :) I'd agree with War being the best song on Nest, and also that Unison Life is a better album. I said it before - Unison Life threads that delicate line of "angst", melancholy and energy just right. I agree that Nest sometimes feels a little more monothematic from a musical standpoint (at least for my taste).

The album of theirs I still need to hear is Burst (which I believe is the debut...?)

It's Mantiis by a band called Obsidian Kingdom. Genre? Well I guess it's progressive post-black metal or something. Just give it a spin.

Really liking this on first listen.  I think it is a keeper.

I only really started listening to Thrice about 5 years ago, and only heard The Artist in the Ambulance fairly recently, so the original is still pretty new to me. I was kinda distracted whilst listening but I enjoyed it, I couldn't really tell you what the differences are though  :lol  I might need to listen to them back to back.
