Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I’ve tried Lace and Whiskey and I couldn’t get into it.   Those Aerosmith records are excellent! Very underrated.

Lace And Whiskey is definitely one of his weaker albums. I hadn't spun it in a while and I'm on an Alice binge at the moment.
There's a few excellent tunes though. King Of The Silver Screen, You And Me, Lace And Whiskey.

Ha! Really! My take is probably the least controversial, but it's always been my favorite of theirs...one of those cases where critical and fan acclaim converge...great songwriting that's both immediately satisfying and rewarding after repeated listens.

What's your favorite Deftones?

I'm also in the camp of preferring White Pony, though Gore is probably my second favorite.

What do you think of Detroit Stories? Blind-bought it the other day and based on what I’ve sampled I’m thinking I won’t like it much. Doesn’t help that it has FOUR covers and I don’t like covers.

Same here, it's usually regarded as one of his weaker albums along with the companion album Lucky Town.

One of my favorite albums even if I would've altered the track order a bit. Also how I am I just finding out the album was mixed by Terry Brown. Explains why I've always loved the production. The bass really shines through the mix. I've always wondered if the album would've done better if released a few years earlier. Releasing in 1989 right before the music scene was about to change completely probably did it no favors.

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
