Excellent album!


If you guys like that, try this one. It's a heavier Tanith. Much more progressive.



I discovered it last night and gave it a listen today. It's really cool. I wouldn't recommend it to my metal friends here but it's a really nice listen. Come to find out, they had a record release party concert in Boston last week.

I had seen it mentioned online and it made me curious. I will certainly check it out after your rec!

EDIT: Three songs in...ooh, this is nice...beautiful stuff so far. Have to pause now, but looking forward to finishing this up

Well, it's not metal. I recommend a lot of metal albums and this isn't one of them. It's similar to Tanith, but with an updated Fates Warning type feel with female vocals and male vocals. The males are generally clean and sporadically harsh.

I've posted about this in the shoegaze thread already but after listening to it more I think this is my album of the year for now. I'm a sucker for this type of bittersweet, bright, nostalgic atmosphere and this album pulls it off super well. And the two 15+ minute epics that close the album out are really something special.

If you check this out make sure you listen past the first three minutes. :biggrin:

Wow, this was quite a journey...not quite what I was expecting after the first few songs. There was a lot going on, and the whole thing morphed into something heavier than I thought. Cool stuff. I'll be sure to revisit.

Janelle Monae has officially lost me with this album. The ArchAndroid and The Electric Lady were both amazing albums. Dirty Computer was a massive step down and this is just not good at all.
