I love this band. Great symphonic alternative metal with ridiculously catchy pop hooks.

I'm struggling with it a bit. Titanium set the bar so high. Its not that its bad, it just feels a bit generic but they are worth me giving it some time before giving up on it. I'm glad it you're digging it, such a great band. Her Chariot Awaits and Smackbound are also great bands in that style.

My first serious listen to this band since I blind-bought their new one. Yeah I know I should’ve listened to them seriously a long time ago.

A few newer releases:




Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want to Turn Into You: As discussed in the top 2023 thread, I'm liking this very much. I was kinda in the mood for this type of pop record. I knew nothing of her before reading a few posts here on DTF, so this was a nice surprise.

Sermon - Of Golden Verse: I had enjoyed the debut Birth of the Marvellous, this promises to be even better. Early to say, but first impressions are very good. Delicious drumming on it too.

Shakma - On Tenebrous Wings: No-nonsense, relentless thrash metal from Norway. I guess one has to be in the mood, but I overall enjoyed it.

Crown Lands - Fearless: Canadian duo (!)...This is interesting. The 18-minute (!!) opener is basically Rush worship. The Rush influence is generally present throughout the record, but mixed in with more "classic rock" sensibilities. Vocals are a mix of, um, Geddy Lee and maybe some Ozzy? Only one listen, but I was intrigued and will likely revisit.

Remember this being all the rage over at MP's place. Never gave it a spin. Just got the 2 disc edition today. Thinking I should have been on this sooner. Waiting did give it to me at a much better price then back in the day though.
