Is this the same Sermon that released Birth of the Marvellous, a few years back? I really liked that one.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Yes it is.  Basically a one man project with a few guests. Love this one. It comes out March 31, I heard a stream early. Pre-ordered it from Bandcamp.   :metal

Had this in the car yesterday, what an amazing piece of art.  I always rated this a little lower than most, but it kicked me in the nuts yesterday and I understood it more.  Such a beautiful album.  Really never paid much attention to some of Chuck's rhythm playing here too, precise and quick.

Hard to beat the Human - Individual Thought Patterns - Symbolic run of albums, imo. Incredible stuff.

I'd certainly add ASOP to that run also.  But yeah, what a incredible run.

The Sound of Perseverance is easily my favourite Death album but they are all amazing. Might need to spin this today, it's been a while.

Yep, made my top 50.  Just an amazing album.  I think Symbolic is lined up for tomorrow though.

I'm exploring the five albums from the original lineup, beyond the classic debut.

I decided to try a new method of listening to albums, and I think it turned out pretty well. I put all three of these albums onto one playlist, but ordered the songs to alternate between each album and make all three albums flow together from start to finish. It was quite long (about 3.5 hours, I think), but I think I got a great experience out of this particular combination of albums. Has anyone else listened to albums in this way?

Also, all three of these albums are incredible as always, and I have decided to bump up Act V from a 9/10 to a 10/10.

Yep.  Usually not for whole albums though.  But a fair number of times I've taken a handful of tracks from several different albums that I want to become more familiar with and interspersed them like that.

I saw something online about it being the album release anniversary and decided to play it.  I haven't listened to it in ages either and I feel the same way - it's a fun little album that got dumped on by prog fans because they expected it would be prog metal.  I thought the same, but never felt the need to bash the band over it.

I only liked a handful of songs on the second album and never even felt like listening to the third though.
