Jason David Frank has passed away.

Apparently it was a suicide.

I went to Wizard Con in Tulsa a few years ago, mostly just to meet him. We were waiting in line for him to show up for the photo ops, and I was probably the 30th person in line. In front of me was a woman and her daughter (probably about six or seven) who was wearing a Power Rangers costume. So instead of showing up at the enclosed photo booth we were lined up at, Jason comes to the line right in front of me and starts addressing everyone, asking if we were enjoying the event, etc. Then he does an aikido roll under the queue tape, goes straight to the girl, and gets down on his knees to talk to her. After that, with her mom's permission, he picked her up and spun her around, and then bid us all adieu as he made his way to the makeshift photo booth. He definitely gave off vibes of being a genuinely good guy. Rest in peace, Tommy.

This one hurts. I loved Power Rangers as a kid. I went as the Green Ranger for Halloween one year. Dude was my childhood hero. RIP.

I think Tommy was my first hero that I can remember. I don't have a middle name, but when I was a little kid watching Power Rangers, I used to joke that I wanted my middle name to be Tommy.

This one hurts. Seemed like a good guy. RIP brother.

Every kid that grew up in the 90's is mourning...

I grew up watching Power Rangers, even went to see them at their Live Show. I might just watch the Power Rangers Movie, and Turbo.  :'(

Was a huge power rangers fan as a kid and I very much looked up to him.

Not many celebrity deaths have stung me over the years - Billy Mays, Tom Petty, Grant Imahara, Meat Loaf, and now JDF.

Met the guy at a RI Con a few years back. He was very personable. Hearing this was a suicide makes it all the worse.

I guess the official cause of death is suicide by hanging, after a heated argument with his ex wife.
