Phideaux - Infernal (finally out!)
« on: September 21, 2018, 10:11:28 AM »
Was surprised to learn we didn't have a Phideaux thread here. For those who know them, it's been a long 8 year wait and Infernal is finally out.

We talked about the album in our podcast here: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/features/talking-perspectives-episode-thirteen/

In that link you can also get to an interview I did with Phideaux Xavier as well as an excellent review written by my friend Jordan.

My favorite remains Number Seven, but Infernal is fantastic!

Number Seven is outstanding, one of my favourite DTF discoveries. Doomsday Afternoon and Snowtorch are also very good. Haven't been able to get the rest of those so far.

Infernal is pretty high on my list to check out, so I'm excited!
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

I peed next to Ian Mosley and Mark Kelly
Derek Sherinian probably stands 10 feet away from the urinal, shoots from downtown, and announces loudly that he's making history.

It’s been on repeat for me for the last 2 weeks. Great Phideaux album. I believe it will stand solid next to Number 7 and Snowtorch. Each listen brings new details...lots of depth. I love those albums that unfolds slowly.

New Phideaux is always awesome news. Now let's see if that release date holds up. If we get an album by the end of 2024 I'll take it as a win!
