I’m hoping for another upset when Canada faces Belgium shortly. Canada finished top of the table in CONCACAF qualifying and looked good in doing so. Hopefully they can carry that over to the big stage.

Watching Belgium vs Canada closely since they're in Croatia's group. Belgium are obviously favorites but Canada has some quality names, I think they can surprise.

Poor them for the trashing they got today, and poor Canada! they could have scored a penalty but Curtois saved it and Belgium eventually won 1-0. Canada didn't deserve defeat...

How Canada didn't score after taking a bazillion shots on goal is beyond me...as I told Jingle, they're just too polite to score.

Qatar - Senegal 1 - 3, Qatar gets eliminated (what a surprise, uh?), scoring at least one goal in their World Cup history, which is likely gonna be short.

Now it's a very open group, thanks to the 6-2 to Iran England are basically through, now Iran - USA will basically be a playoff... with Iran able to play just for a draw!

France just defeated Denmark 2-1 (damn). Not that this was going to change much for Denmark - even with a draw and 2 points, they had anyway to defeat Australia to go through.

Now let's see if Mexico will kick Argentina out of the cup already!

I enjoy the World Cup, but the constant flopping is always a major stain on the sport. Not saying athletes in other sports don't flop (hello, NBA!), but soccer players are next level with it.

Calling it now: Spain wins the group, goes in the harder part of the table, and gets eliminated in the round of 16. Germany passes as second, ends up in the easier half, and goes straight to the semi final
