Kai was really just there. Markus seemed like such a cool dude, but it was all about Michael, and he couldn't have been more accommodating. I was shocked at how young he looked in person. At the in store appearance earlier in the day, I asked him how old he was...that's how I know he was 19. This pic was taken two days after I turned 19 myself.

A phenomenal day that was recaptured here..

Ok, we're up to four.  I suspect if you run across any of my vocalist lists we're gonna start adding figures to that.  :)

especially my current submission in Luke's.

Yeah, sorry, that's just not happening.  :p  I need to hear everything to make sense of his commentary in case it'll earn me a point or two on later submissions. :)

I hardly ever listen to other submissions when I play in roulettes. I'll occasionally listen to the top scored song.

Some of it might just be a personality difference between us, some of it might just be you having many years of experience on me in the current version of this forum, so you have a far more complete mental profile of each poster than I do.

Nice to see so much Kiske talk.  Tobi did a wonderful job getting him back into the hard rock/metal thing again.  Props to him.

Another mention is the couple of songs he did on Timo Tolkki's Revolution Renaissance debut.

I am quite fond of both Kiske/Sommerville albums too.  Pretty generic stuff by some nice songs on both those albums.

The more you post, the more I remember how many albums of his outside of Helloween (I'm not really a fan) that I actually do know and love.  I should've given him more consideration.

I'm kinda late to the party, but for people who only know Anneke through Devin or Ayreon, I recommend these songs where she's the lead singer:

Anneke van Giersbergen - Agape (and I'll team up with Stadler here, listen to the whole album, it's fantastic)
Amadeus Awad - Lonesome Clown
Amadeus Awad - Sleep Paralysis
The Gathering - Souvenirs

Kiske absolutely deserves to be on this list. Such a powerhouse but also a beautiful voice.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

I'm predicting Simone.  Possibly Floor.

I'd be mildly surprised if Floor is this low.  And I'm unsure that Simone would make the Top 25.  I'll make a bold prediction and go old school - Ann Wilson (perhaps Pat Benatar)

Two more!

14 Daniel Gildenlow

Appeared on 7 of 36 lists
Highest Finish: 1 (elefantStone, Animal, Adami)
6 Top 10 Finishes

I used to really dislike his voice. Not that I am a big fan now, but I was fine with his contributions with the Flower Kings and Transatlantic, so it makes me think he's just not a good songwriter, as I cannot stand his voice in 95% of the songs by Pain of Salvation I have heard.  Just too melodramatic.

13 Ann Wilson

Appeared on 11 of 36 lists
Highest Finish:  1 (Dream Team)
3 Top 10 Finishes

What a voice!!  Anyone in doubt, go listen to Mistral Wind or Dream of the Archer (that last note!!) from the 70s.  I ranked her 13th despite, like Brad Delp, her not having a massive amount of material I listen to often.  She could sing the phone book and it would sound amazing.

Way too low for Daniel, but still glad he made it.

Ann seemed obvious but wasn't on my list. Just not super familiar with her stuff.

Nailed it!  She placed 16th on my list.

Despite giving them many many chances, I'm simply not a fan of PoS AT ALL (PoS has an apt acronym, imo), so DG wouldn't get a sniff on my list.

Have seen Pain of Salvation 7 times live and Daniel Gildenlöf  solo acoustic once.
When I saw him solo was the day after Leonard Cohen died and when he sang Halleluja I bet not an eye in the audience was dry. Such a wonderful tribute.....

Their BE concert a year before the album was released is one of the best concerts I have seen. Short video here

Yeah I’ve got either downloaded or on a playlist just about every song Ann’s ever song. Just this year she released an album of great smoky bluesy numbers I’ve been enjoying. Kudos to everyone else that had her on the list.

Kev, awesome selection of a gif by the way!

Let me help...

In her prime with her main band Heart--- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeMvMNpvB5M&ab_channel=thebandheart

And as the one chosen to sing Stairway to Heaven when Zeppelin got their Kennedy Center Honors show... always felt this is one of the greatest live performances ever, she just absolutely crushes this song right in front of the original band... there's one comment that says "now Zeppelin knows how we all felt listening to this"

Neither on my list.  I'm fine with Ann Wilson.

But I'm pretty sure I like Daniel Gildenlow even less than TAC likes Chris Cornell.  I've seen POS 5 times (too many) and liked him less each time.

I’m the opposite of you, Kev. I started out kind of liking Gildenlow’s voice when I first heard POS, but grew to find it really annoying. He’s got talent for sure and a powerful voice with a lot of range no doubt, but he does especially grate on me in TFK and TA. Just feels out of place there. Melodramatic is the right word. The one thing I have where I don’t find him annoying is POS’s 12:5 live album. Anyway, obviously not ranked by me.

Ann Wilson has a lovely voice, but I’ve never had much interest in Heart. I like a few of their syrupy 80s hits though (What About Love, These Dreams).

Still just Peter Gabriel making the list for me so far. I still expect another 3-5 maybe, but it’s getting a little late so maybe not!

Just perfection.  I actually love the enthusiasm and zeal from Nancy; and Jason making it his own while being true to John's delivery.  "chef's kiss*.  Can't forget them at the Zeppelin induction to RRHOF - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M44M7pOAQQw

Stairway will never not be the greatest song of all time in my ears.  Not my fave Zeppelin song (though, after watching this again for like the b bagillionth me), I just may need to re-rank it for Kev's list.

For my liking, Heart's Rock This House cover of You're The Voice is god-tier for me.

Oh dear fucking lord.

You're saying that but that's literally how it is, at least here for me. Heart is basically an unknown band here. Deep Purple, sure, Queen, yeah, Iron Maiden, yes for sure, Heart? Probably 99% of people never heard of them.

I only know who Ann Wilson is because of DTF. I'm with Luke on this. :)
