February 2nd - Alter Bridge & Mammoth WVH @ Wellmont Theater, Montclair NJ
February 23rd - Powerwolf @ Palladium Times Square, New York City NY *
March 17th - Muse & Evanescence @ Madison Square Garden, New York City NY *
April 14th - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band @ Prudential Center, Newark NJ
May 8th - VV @ Irving Plaza, New York City NY
September 6th - Day 1 Progpower @ Center Stage, Atlanta GA
September 6th - Day 2 Progpower @ Center Stage, Atlanta GA
September 6th - Day 3 Progpower @ Center Stage, Atlanta GA *
September 6th - Day 4 Progpower @ Center Stage, Atlanta GA *

I don't think I will be able to score a ticket for Bruce at a price I'm comfortable with, but I have it listed because I will keep my eyes out.  I've never seen him and I'm not even much of a fan, but I feel like I should see him once, as a NJ native in NJ.

* means I have a ticket already since I literally just bought two of those shows this morning.

Not got tickets yet, as they've not gone on sale, but you better believe I'm going to see King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in March!

Well, let's see. 2023.  I have it locked that I'll be seeing Alter Bridge and Mammoth WVH, three times.  One where I'm traveling far to Toronto.  One where I'm driving only 10 minutes away from my house to the House of Blues.  One where I'm driving about 90 minutes to a casino in the Inland Empire area.

Alter Bridge with Mammoth WVH opening - History - Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  February 11th, 2023.
Alter Bridge with Mammoth WVH and Pistols at Dawn (no idea who those guys are) - House of Blues - Anaheim, California.  March 28th, 2023.
Alter Bridge with Mammoth WVH - Yeamova Theater - Highland, California.  April 1st, 2023.

I'm also thinking about seeing Muse with Evanescence at ..... Crypto.com Arena.  Man, I get how naming rights of a building works and owners of buildings got to follow the money, but going from Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena still tastes bad.  I get changing the name out of Staples (since they are not able to provide the money for the naming rights moving forward), but Crypto.com Arena is a garbage name.

Also, for my out-of-the boundary concert for the year, I may lean towards seeing Ed Sheeran at SoFi Stadium next September.

Other concerts could be more Alter Bridge shows (I'm leaning towards a show in Kansas City where I then take a bus to St. Louis to catch a Blues hockey game the next day) and maybe a trip to Europe to see what their shows in Europe feels like with a much bigger crowd in front of them if they eventually announce those shows.

Also, not concert-related, and this may be a long shot, but depending how I feel on April 2nd, and how resale look, I may contemplate going to Wrestlemania at Sofi Stadium on April 2nd.  Who knows, it's not that far of a drive from Highland to Inglewood. Maybe if all of the cards aligns well in the world, maybe Alter Bridge can finally play out Edge's theme song, Metalingus, live at Wrestlemania the day after the final show of their early 2023 tour and that would be a huge markout moment for me if I was there live to witness it, as a former wrestling fan and as an AB fan.

This is something for the younger demographics, but Blink 182 with Tom Delonge coming back has a tour announced in 2023.  Four shows in California.  May think about going to the LA show.  I wonder if they will play of the stuff from the albums that Delonge was not a part of?

Tickets purchased for both Nemophila shows.... finding it hard to believe that I'll be witness to their first four shows outside of Japan. (also, at Aftershock, I personally passed their first crowd ever surfer to security)

Now this version of When We Were Young festival for 2023 is the stuff that gets me intrigued, even if the sets are going to be condensed.  Green Day, Blink 182, Rise Against, Sum 41, The Offspring, 30 Seconds to Mars, 5 Seconds of Summer, and lots more.  I don't know if I want to make the trip to Vegas for this, but it's an option.

I do find the humor when a good amount of these bands has numbers in its name.

I'd wait to see how the first version of this festival goes off.  It seems like a logistical nightmare to me, but maybe it's a smooth good experience.  I think that festival has done a great job for this years and next years at targeting a specific genre of music.  If you like this genre, this festival is perfect (in terms of bands).  I've seen everyone I would want to see at that festival though.  It doesn't seem to be offering anything different or unique other than it all being in one day and some rarer appearances by bands I'm not familiar with or don't care for.  A little over a month ago I saw Sum 41 / Simple Plan / Set it Off and all three of those are at that festival.

RJ would be proud, I purchased a ticket to see Nemophila in NYC in March.  I actually haven't even listened to them, but it came out to $27 after fees.  Why not?

Interesting Accept news. Mark Tornillo was sick for the Pennsylvania gig before coming to the Peekskill Paramount theater in NY that I was supposed to go to. Jason McMaster from Watchtower/Dangerous Toys filled in and was still on stand by for the NY show that Mark was able to do. I would have absolutely loved seeing Jason!!!! I hope that entire show was filmed. Glad Mark is feeling better though.

Anthrax always puts on a great live show.  And, I've never seen the other 2 live.  So, for me, it was a no-brainer.  Plus, the venue is awesome.

I think these line ups really nail the target audience, I just really struggle with the 60 bands in one day. Plus if the weather holds up given the first day of When We Were Young was cancelled an hour before doors opened due to high winds.

Anyway, I think I'll probably go to this local radio festival

Now this is my kind of festival.  They have Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm back.  I actually opt in on their website for them to text me the presale code on Friday.  This could be something I can make a trip for.  Heck, this may even give a chance to play some live poker in Vegas since the games in SoCal aren't that great for me.

All right, Skillet and Theory of a Deadman is doing a co-headlining tour with Saint Asonia opening.  Surprise, surprise.  The LA show is the final show of the tour.  Also, surprisingly, it's at the Wiltern.  I would think the name power of Skillet and Theory with Adam Gontier's Saint Asonia would fill something bigger in LA like Hollywood Palladium.  I like two out of the three bands (don't like Theory of a Deadman), so I'll keep an eye out on tickets throughout the winter.

That tour doesn't have Skillet at my local venue for some reason.  Either way, I didn't think I'd go.  The new Skillet album may be the worst new album of 2022 for me.

Also announced today is Foreigners farewell tour with Loverboy.  The final show (kind of doubt this is the final show, just the last of the announced tour) is at my local summer shed so I expect to see that one.  (also the first summer tour I've seen announced)

I will say, the start of 2023 is starting to fill in nicely with lots of bands I've never seen before.

Just saw the Riverside announcement, the venue they're playing in Berkeley is f'in amazing. What an appetizer for my double main course of Nemophila the week after.. 2023 is of to a banging start!!!

Feb 26- Riverside, Cornerstone in Berkeley
March 7th - Nemophila, Goldfield Trading Post, Sacramento
March 8th - Nemophila, Great American Music Hall, San Francisco

Spiritbox is also dropping hints of a US headline tour next year, that'd be an epic addition to the list, the killed it at Aftershock

Aaaaaaaaaand as expected, Spiritbox announces with Intervals opening!!!

Feb 26- Riverside, Cornerstone in Berkeley
March 7th - Nemophila, Goldfield Trading Post, Sacramento
March 8th - Nemophila, Great American Music Hall, San Francisco
April 14 - Spiritbox & Intervals, Ace of Spades, Sacramento

On a side note, there's been a growing trend of bands skipping the bay area altogether in favor of Sacramento. Not sure why they'd miss such a huge market, my only speculation would be they can avoid the two hours of traffic each way in favor of staying within 15 miles of Interstate 5.

I listened to a couple singles, solid, but I don't really have an opinion on them yet.  I'll check out the album for sure
