Not vaxxed,,, never will be and I went out every day, went to work every day as I am an owner, went to dinner since day one , I go out and party every weekend, and I have  not had a cold nor covid in years...  I did put zinc in my daily routine for the first year or so,,, Id eat a few oranges more also

I did not see my parents for about a year as I was worried about them so we just talked more but they no longer give it much thought , they got vaxxed but no longer believe and wont get boosted ever

I voted Other. I'm vaxxed and (first) boosted. I lost my sense of taste for three days in May but didn't test.

I have also worked with the public for basically 6 days a week the entire time. I have not been sick at anytime.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Family had Covid end of July. We are all vaxxed with one booster - I kinda lost track of where boosters are at these days - except the 4 year old, who got it pretty hard.

I have had Covid once and am not vaxxed

Was totally mild and could still mostly function.  Had flu's way worse than COVID.  Won't be getting vaxxed any time soon either.

This is me as well. The worst part for me was the sore throat with a dry cough. Other than, I was just stuffy with occasional runny nose, and just tired enough to not want to go anywhere.

I've had it once, after I was vaxxed and boosted (2 months after my last booster).

My wife is convinced she was one of the first batches of people getting sick. When covid struck she was doing a lot of nurse educating in Boston and NYC and had to fly home because she got so sick, sicker than I've ever seen her. She spent most of her adult life as a ER nurse (adults then pediatric) and she was rarely sick and if she was it was hardly anything to speak about.

I'm vaxxed and boosted, don't know if I've had Covid. I had a really nasty cold earlier this year - it was rougher than my usual cold, so it could very well have been a case of Covid.

I've been doing some reading up on this because it fascinates the hell out of me.  I think one of the obstacles they've run into is the fact that so many people had Covid but were asymptomatic vs having the gene that prevents someone from actually contracting it.  You would think an antibody test would rule these folks out but it isn't that simple because when you get vaccinated your immune response makes antibodies.  So the needle in the haystack are people who never got the vaccine but have never had Covid.  Those people get tested for antibodies and if they have none, then the researchers have a pool of people to draw from.

I just came down with covid and I am very sick right now.  I'm fully vaccinated and boosted. This has been a terrible experience so far right after losing my best friend/companion to cancer last month. She was an amazing lady in every way!  Now I get struck with covid.
I tested positive on Wednesday, and this virus has knocked me down for the count. Way worse then the flu or a cold. No signs of let-up yet.  I'm trying to ride it out at home,  hopefully avoiding a hospital visit. 🤧🤯🥵🤒

I really, really wanted to live through this untouched by Covid, but the only time I let my guard down, and didn't wear the mask in a closed venue for Alice Cooper, I got it.

At least I can say I fell at a rock concert, and didn't take it in a "stupid" way  :D

Three doses, got for three days a classic fever, headache for six days, and a slow aftermath of cough. It was horrible timing - in the scorching heat of summer, while my AC was broken down, while the other guy at work doing my same mansion was in vacation so everything was screwed up, but all in all, major annoyance aside, it was "just" a flu. The aftermath was long and annoying, but coworkers got it even worse - someone had it far longer than me, a couple of women lamented heavy pains, the coworker that eventually got it for the second time lost the taste etc.... for me it was just like any other flu I previously had, just more annoying and with a more prolonged aftermath.

I'm kinda in the same camp.  Back in April, the first time out in a large social setting in over 2 years, and I took my mask off for about 10-15 minutes to sip a beer and munch some food at a pub with a bunch of new work colleagues (it was literally my first day on the job at a new firm), and the person I'm sitting next to announces to the group the next morning he's testing positive .  For a 2-day period in the midst of my case, I was sicker than I'd ever been in my life (well, there were a few hangovers where I'd felt worse  :lol).

Kudos to those that have had to good fortune to avoid it, or only have a mild case.

That's me.  I've been exposed plenty, but have never tested positive.  Closest I came was when my daughter had Omicron in January.  I felt "off," but couldn't trigger a positive test.
Yea, that's pretty much my case too.

That is indeed interesting, but I wouldn't consider it surprising (and I know you didn't specifically say it was "surprising").  I mean, rhinoviruses and coronaviruses have been around forever, and yet we know that a lot of people who get common colds from either of them often show no symptoms, and that plenty who are exposed don't seem to get them for reasons that are unclear and somewhat of a mystery.  This really isn't all that different, is it?

What is different and is interesting (to me) is that finding people who have zero antibodies to Covid-19 because of the mass vaccination effort is what is making research into WHY some people are not susceptible so difficult.  From what I understand it is possible to differential specific antibodies to Covid-19 vs other coronaviruses.  It is true that coronaviruses have been around forever.  I don't know that I've ever met someone who claims they have never had a cold - though it is possible.  It's just that common cold symptoms are difficult to distinguish between various viral illnesses.  Many also cannot distinguish immune response to vaccines (like influenza) from illness.  Most people I know do not go in and get tested for your standard typical cold.  At least not before the pandemic, and that is merely to rule out Covid-19 and/or influenza etc.

I have had Covid once and I am fully vaccinated and boosted.

My sister and I contracted it at the same time, In June this year we had done a rat test (rapid antigen test) on the same day after she had lost her sense of taste and I lost my voice.
Both rates were negative, a day later she had a pcr test done and was positive, I took another rat which was positive, then backed it up with a pcr which
was also positive, (as rats had been known to provide false positives), I honestly just thought I had flu, (it was winter at this time in Australia)

We had been at Crown Casino in Melbourne with our brother at a live event, and he never had any symptoms, and so far has not had Covid at all.

During the week quarantine, I went through everything flu related, lost my voice, runny nose, very slight cough and fever.

My sister lost her sense of taste for one month, had a runny nose and a cough towards the end of her one week quarantine.

(This was late June this year)

I spent a week in the ICU before I was eligible for vaccinations. At that point, I think it was just elderly, first responders, and teachers.

I've now had both Moderna shots and two following boosters. People around me have had COVID and didn't realize it until after long periods of exposure, so the vaccines either prevented it in me or made it asymptomatic.

Another #1 here.  Never had it to my knowledge.  Been tested three times, all negative.  Two shots and one booster, getting the bivalent booster next week.

My wife and I work from home but we do go grocery shopping once or twice a week and dine out once a week.  Neither of us have had it.

Illness is definitely a strange thing.  I used to be sick quite often as a kid living up in the cold and damp NW (Oregon).  Moving to a drier climate (Arizona) may have helped, but I think it was mostly growing older and developing immunity to certain things.  Who knows?  Could it be somewhat of a mindset too?  For example, I had the stomach flu really bad at age 11.  Told myself I was never gonna get that again.  Here I am 45 years later and haven't had the stomach flu since.  You know that 48 hr flu where you're not vomiting, but it feels like you got hit by a truck and the aches and chills are nothing short of brutal?  Haven't had that in over 30 years and I stopped getting the flu shot not too long after that.  Can't even begin to know why or even try to explain it.
