(Also I may have subjected TAC to 3 or 4 rounds of Katatonia in his roulettes and then after he made a rule that you couldn't send repeat bands, I sent him an EP of songs where Jonas Renkse guested).

That's how you win at life.
Where have you been for all of my time at this forum? :)
:metal  At life, for sure.  TAC's roulette - not so much. :)

Quote
He seemed to be trying to find bands he can get into the larger discographies of though.  If he comes across "Gone", "Saw You Drown", "Gateways of Bereavement", "We Must Bury You" and such he may never finish the roulette.   :lol

I don't think I'd send any of those in a roulette - those are for after you've already become a fan, I think. :)

"Passing Bird" is the song that sold me, but I'm weird.

That's a *great* song.  So are the ones you mentioned, btw.  We Must Bury You is my favorite of those, but I love the version of Gone from Sanctitude.

This is, I think, the first roulette I'm not participating in since I joined this forum 5 years ago. However, dealing with personal tragedy has put a massive damper on my enthusiasm lately. I will be following this though. Good luck everyone. And I'm rooting for LithoJazzoSphere, since this is his first roulette as a participant. :tup :metal :kvlt:

I hope you're doing OK, Puppies.  *hugs* if you want them.

Thanks for dropping in, Puppies! I'm really sorry for your loss, and I certainly understand why you wouldn't want to participate in roulettes right now.

Dead Letter Circus - One Step/Here We Divide/Cage.

I didn't know "Cage" was four words totaling 13 letters.

One Step is also wrong, but Here We Divide is correct.

I think the missing Deftones track is "Tempest"

I think the Toto tracks are "Better World" and "Jake To The Bone".

Is there a criteria for asking for a letter?  If not, I'll take an "S".

Where have you been for all of my time at this forum? :)

For some reason I guess they haven't come up much in recent topics.  Their last album was '20, so I suppose discussion was probably heavier regarding them before I was posting much.

I love the version of Gone from Sanctitude.

It's certainly a nice alternate version.  I still definitely prefer the original.  That sustained tone at the beginning like a heartrate flatlining is one of my favorite things about it, and it's absent in the Sanctitude version.  I also rarely say something like this, but the live version is really too "pretty".  I really love the griminess and gritty dirge of the electrics on the original, where even the "clean" tone is kind of messy.

It's not Tempest, folks!

The Toto and CHVRCHES guesses are correct. This might help with CHVRCHES: Note that wherever a slash is separating two distinct songs, I put a space on either side of the slash.

We just guess a letter whenever anyone wants to see another. Here's the S:

twosuitsluke: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Robot Stop / Magenta Mountain / S___ _am _
Deftones - Swerve City / Entombed / __m_e__

kingshmegland: Mile Marker Zero - T_e Ar___te_t / ____ / _r__a_a_da

Dead Letter Circus - The Mile / Here We Divide / This is the Warning
__a E_____d - B_ae_ma_ / S__ A_d T_e M___
Cyril: CHVRCHES - Leave a Trace / Science/Visions / How Not to Drown
S_eet B____ ____r_m - _a___s_ / _e Are T_e _r___t _ar_ers
T_e __ber_am - __ Sa__t_ / T_e M_ra_ _a_ds_a_e
T_e ____ers - _est ____s / R__a_a_ __rses / __ T_e _ar __ts_de
Se_e_ S__res - T__s __d _s Dead / B_r_ ___
wolfking: Angel Dust - Bleed / Cross of Hatred / Freedom Awaits
Stadler: Concrete Blonde - __e_ / __tt_e ____ / ____ab_e

Letters used: D R T E F M B A S

Note that I've also added an "a" that I missed earlier in the third King Gizzard song.

Edit: Also just added a "t" I missed in the 13th artist name.

And just to speak to the question of artists I've been sent before, since that's come up with CHVRCHES and Katatonia already: The fact that an artist I've sent before isn't banned doesn't necessarily mean I didn't like what I heard or that I'm not interested in them. There's a whole list of artists I'm interested in investigating further, but part of the question is: How motivated am I to invest the time in them? Getting additional songs from an artist like that in this roulette will help raise or lower my motivation depending on how I feel about those songs. So it's not inherently risky to send an artist I've heard before.

No, I haven't been around the forum as much lately myself - that was just my way of saying I'm glad to "meet" another Katatonia fan. :)

No that heartrate thing is a good point  The original is perfectly fine as is - you won't find any complaints here.  I just love that whole Sanctitude performance and it's one that I really wish I'd been able to see live and in person myself.  I love the vibe with the crowd and how Jonas' vocals aren't perfect and yet that makes it perfect somehow and.... I could go on.

I can relate to this and if I were to do another roulette, there are probably more artists from my first roulette that would not be banned vs those that are.  And some of those songs I really loved, but I'm just slow about exploring new stuff.  I just got into one of the artists earlier this year and became kind of obsessive about it, and maybe had I tried earlier it wouldn't have had the same impact.
