Phew.  They have way more "er" songs than I realized.  And even an "ur" song.  But man are you living dangerously.  425 supposedly isn't into too overtly depressing music, and Katatonia is some of the bleakest stuff around.  So totally worth it though.  So much of the music I like is pretty melancholic too though, so I may wind up shooting myself in the foot at some point, especially since I don't generally pay that much attention to lyrics.

I did explain to 425 why I don't think either Evidence or Neon Epitaph are bleak, and I hope he agrees.  Lacquer maybe, but it's so so beautiful.

In my mind, there's a kind of sad music that I like and a kind that I don't. These kinds are clearly distinct to me, but I still haven't figured out a way to describe these in a way that makes it fully clear to others. The best I've been able to do is comparisons, like "there's a big difference to me between Evergrey sad and Porcupine Tree sad."
