Yeah, it's not so much about material that's "second-tier', just that there's an argument that people perceive quality so very differently, that 14:50 of material I'd rate a 95 might have a better chance of someone else liking it than 13:10 of material I'd rate a 99, just by sheer chance and volume.

Second last track on the Of Human Bondage album.  Kinda different for them and a little more melodic and catchy.

Oops, you're right.  Then I'm hoping my first one was accurate, "Lacquer".  I had miscounted again and thought there were six letters before "er" rather than five.

Phew.  They have way more "er" songs than I realized.  And even an "ur" song.  But man are you living dangerously.  425 supposedly isn't into too overtly depressing music, and Katatonia is some of the bleakest stuff around.  So totally worth it though.  So much of the music I like is pretty melancholic too though, so I may wind up shooting myself in the foot at some point, especially since I don't generally pay that much attention to lyrics.

Well, if I'm participating in a roulette and Katatonia is not banned...

I did explain to 425 why I don't think either Evidence or Neon Epitaph are bleak, and I hope he agrees.  Lacquer maybe, but it's so so beautiful. :)

At least there are no eliminations after round 1. :)

In my mind, there's a kind of sad music that I like and a kind that I don't. These kinds are clearly distinct to me, but I still haven't figured out a way to describe these in a way that makes it fully clear to others. The best I've been able to do is comparisons, like "there's a big difference to me between Evergrey sad and Porcupine Tree sad."

The guesses have been right. Here's the M.

This is, I think, the first roulette I'm not participating in since I joined this forum 5 years ago. However, dealing with personal tragedy has put a massive damper on my enthusiasm lately. I will be following this though. Good luck everyone. And I'm rooting for LithoJazzoSphere, since this is his first roulette as a participant. :tup :metal :kvlt:
