Got my kid's name from the original, so I'm kind of committed to watching this.

Looks great though.

Oh you...

No, her name is Alora, inspired by the baby in the movie.

Didn't like the film.

Won't be watching this.

But I'm happy for everyone who did like the film, and is looking forward to this.

There are a lot of really cool girl's names:  Sorsha, Kaiya, Elora.

One of my daughter's friends is named Kyer, which is what her parents thought was Willow's wife's name.  Their son's middle name is Kael (or Kale...not sure how they spell it).

We were in the 8th month of pregnancy, and totally stuck. We were just chilling, watching Willow and they dropped Elora's name, we looked at each other and agreed in an instant. Spelled it with an A, but yeah, that's how it happened.

Anyone been watching this?

I forgot about it and then saw that it had been released, so I went back and watched the original movie.  Then I watched the first two episodes that have been released thus far.  Interesting story, and seeing Joanne Whalley back as Sorsha is cool.  I've liked the story thus far (several call backs to the movie), but the acting of the young female leads is reminiscent of a high school drama production.  We'll see how it goes.

I've been watching and loving it, though it's been a long time since I've watched the original film.  It brings me back to being a kid and immersing myself in that movie.

Val Kilmer was supposed to return as Madmartigan, but filming started during the pandemic and he didn't feel that he could fly out and be there.  I'm glad that there has been a lot of dialogue about Madmartigan and we're getting his story.

I've been wondering.  In the second episode, Sorsha mentioned that she had sent Madmartigan on a quest and he never returned, so I thought maybe he'd show up eventually.

Good lord this show is an abomination. Halfway through episode 7 and I really want to quit it but there is only one more episode left.

I just can't get over how bad this. Totally missed the tone and point of the original film. Take that away and literally everything about this show is terrible except the cinematography.

I thought it was okay. It had some moments of fun, cool CG, and the world is really interesting. I also appreciate that it doesn't take itself or its genre too seriously, actually pokes fun at it a bit which I find refreshing. The use of modern music, fabrics and phrases was a little throwing, but I don't mind it, as it's fantasy anyways. However, the plot and some of the action could be better. I'd say the comedy hit better than the drama for me most of the time.
