- This was amazingly cinematic
- Talk about hitting all human emotions...

- This all feels very cohesive.....maybe too cohesive
- The middle of this kind of drags on longer than necessary
- This goes on and on and on, but I think I love every minute of it
- There's a lot to digest here and I'm not sure all of it is going to work for me in the end

- After seeing the song list I wasn't sure this was going to work, but I was shown differently
- This has a similar feel to your last EP, but more sensical and yet more nonsensical, if that makes sense :neverusethis:
- this is a lot of a specific prog sound that I've been really digging lately, but one song may be a bit too long for its own good

One of those 3? I hope it's song list.

Title: The Composition of Life.

Mateo always wanted to be a painter.  He idolized the greats.  Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio.  He strived to fulfill his passion of all mediums.  Oil was his favorite to use.  Oils seems to pop off the canvas. He kept painting, word of mouth was spreading.  People in town wanted to see his works. (Gold – Barock Project)
Word of his painting spread to distant towns. His brushstrokes were second to none.  To him, it was a joy just to do what he loved.  He never thought of himself as better than others.  Just a passion he loved working daily.  He was (A Truly Gifted Man – A.C.T.)
Though he loved what he was doing, he found it wasn’t paying the bills.  He struggled to sell his painting because they were so personal to him but to survive and paint more he had to.  It was an uphill battle always to balance his passion for his art and to keep a roof over his head. ( More of A Climb, Less of a Walk – This Day & Age)
It was here he would find out what he was made of.  The inner turmoil to feed his passion as well as survive.  Doubt crept in at times.  He fought himself many times.  The inner turmoil. (Who You Are – Yesternight)
Slowly he became bitter at critics, at the struggle to make money.  Where was all the accolades of before?  He still had fans of his works.  He couldn’t understand the harshness of hat the critics wrote and why he couldn’t make more money.  He fought these feeling.  “To hell with them!  I will do what I love! He said to himself, unabashed. (Judas Unrepentant – Big Big Train)
Still he had a big chip on his shoulders.  He became bitter, hard to talk to.  He felt at ease with the canvas, but not with human interaction.  Was it in his head?  Was it easier to hide behind the canvas?  It seemed Mateo was pulling back from the world. (And The Grudge(Still Here) – Anasazi)
For years Mateo still worked, was still bitter and still hid behind his work.  He looked back upon his work wondering if his anger fueled his art or did it hold him back?  He slowly worked his way from behind the canvas to in front of humans again.  Looking back on his journey, he forgot how much he loved to paint and to share his works with others. This brought a renewal late in his life for the love and passion of painting and sharing. (Sepia & White – Abel Ganz)
At his deathbed with his family and paintings sprawled around the room, he wondered if he let life get to him or did he live a good life.  Ever tormented in his head, not sure what the answer is he closes his eyes for the last time. (A Room With a View – Anubis)
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'.” - Bob Newhart

Just some observations about these concept albums that I've noticed after listening to them all for the third time all the way through.

- the first 20-30 minutes of every album is absolutely killer
- you have all improved massively (taking into account where each of your skill sets were at the start of this) in the flow category throughout this whole roulette
- I don't think any of the albums nailed all 3 scoring aspects this round, but this observation may change as I listen to each of these again throughout the week

Based on first impressions and also the songs you sent, I think your song score is pretty safe (I mean, I liked them a lot and I'm not even into these genres as much as Chris is). I could see him scoring you down on flow potentially, despite it only being 5 massive epics. 95 minutes of black and death metal followed by 25 mins of experimental indie is pretty bold, and it sounds like volume levels aren't very consistent between songs.

My score most at risk is songs, I think he'll definitely like quite a lot of what I sent but could find some of it not very interesting - I honestly just don't know.

Basically, it's anyone's guess!

Really not far at all. I work in London. St Albans is technically a separate city but is very much a commuter town (as well as being an interesting place in itself).

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

Also ariich gets a 0 for this round since he didn't meet up with me in Ireland... :neverusethis:
Um, Ireland is an entirely different country. :lol

For real though it would have been great to meet up if you'd been stopping over in the UK. Then again with a 2-week old baby, it still might not have been very feasible!
Closer than America!

My wife and I are planning to go to Scotland next year.
