The original is hard to eclipse.

Agree. But check out this cover, if you haven't yet. It is haunting.

Train’s original music is pretty lame beyond the song Drops of Jupiter, but hot damn, those guys know what they’re doing when it comes to covering Led Zeppelin.  Also, that US Army Band performance of Time Stand Still is pretty awesome as well.

I've mentioned this a few times before but train covered led zep ii a few years back, the album is on Spotify. I got to see them cover it front to back live and it was awesome. The lead singer from train was in a led zeppelin cover band before starting train.

Being fair, Sound Awake is kinda the best album that ever came out of this country, though I love Voyager even more as a band.

Here are your impressions, I tried to make em a bit easier this time.

Quote
I actually kinda prefer the vocals in this version

Quite eclectic. This will require a fair few listens.

This version actually perfectly captures a nostalgic feeling behind these lyrics.

I really like the use of the alternate vocal style here.

This works way better for me than I thought it would.

I think I like this more than the original already

So iconic that the original feels like the cover instead

A fresh take on a classic. Beautiful.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. I’m partial to a bit of horn!

I always love it when a band plays a cover song so well you’d think they wrote it themselves

This is way better than I’m willing to give this band credit for

Nothing will ever compare to the original, but this does a mighty admirable job!

Very different way of singing this one. Respect!

Possibly the most hauntingly beautiful version of this song you could ever hear.

Ballsy move to reinterpret such a well-known song this way

Kinda miss the vocals, but gotta love the playing!

I’m loving this one already

I do love the melodic metal approach taken with this one! Might be an early contender
