Hell yeah :metal Now check out the whole album!

The Addicted version of Hyperdrive is also in the key of C# instead of C, which sounds much better.

Songs that tell a story huh? I honestly have no idea what to send for this one, but I'll figure it out. Moving up in the rankings, so I'm gonna try not to blow it!

4/5? Amazing! :o Really glad to hear you liked it! I may send more songs like this in the future, but for now I have a couple ideas for Round 6... I'll probably be sending pretty soon.

Was a real nice song. Probably would have been even stronger if I understood Japanese.

Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Sent by Tomislav95

Remember when MTV was something special? These Unplugged sessions were truly something special. This isn't the only song on this list that comes from such a show, but I'm sure as hell gonna bring it up now as Pearl Jam's session was one of the biggest after Nirvana.
This version of Jeremy is actually the one I prefer, live and raw yet lacking absolutely nothing. Vedder sings it with everything he's got. The band hit those riffs hard like they're unaware of the fact they're playing acoustically, this just fires on all cylinders perfectly. It's definitely got a few rough edges though. I don't really like that "door door door" thing that Eddie's doing there and he can be pretty pitchy at times. But, this is pretty quintessential and I think this is probably more iconic than the original version of the song, at least for me. Great pick, Tomislav!

4.5 + 1

I only recently checked out Pearl Jam's unplugged set and honestly it's one of my favorites. Like you said they used be so great, Nirvana, AIC, Kiss all had great unplugged shows.

Band-Maid - Domination
Sent by lonestar

I don't understand a word but I'm having a ball with this! Guess you don't really always need lyrics if the tune is this good hey? The riffs are awesome, I really like that stop/start trade off the guitarists do in the second, I wanna say, pre-chorus. Then that instrumental section starts up. I love the riff, but that's more is I love that everyone is having a go at soloing here, kicking off with the bass before we go into a guitar solo and then a cool little unison bit before the drum solo. Yeah, this is just a good time!

4.75 + 1

Nice, glad you dug it, all of their output is akin to this, and I'm very looking forward to seeing them live in October. And as I said in my message, the female J-Metal scene is very deep, with tons of great bands.

Sending my story soon...

Prefab Sprout - When Love Breaks Down
Sent by HOF

This is a song that I wouldn't give a chance outside of a roulette I feel, but man, this is pretty. I actually really enjoyed this one. The whole song kinda makes my heart happy, which I feel like it shouldn't, but the guitar tones on display are so nice. I love the melodic lead break that shows up every now and then. His voice is a little breathy, but it really suits the lyric here. I'm thinking I really need to check out the original because I'm wondering why this wouldn't be the definitive version. It's just nice! There's really not a whole lot more to say

4.5 + 1

Awesome, glad you liked it! That's what I love about these Roulettes. So the original is very different, and the reason this wasn't the original is that they were recorded over 20 years apart. The Steve McQueen album came out in 1985, and was very much a synth/art pop type of thing with production that was of it's time. They re-recorded most of the album with all acoustic arrangements for a 2007 re-issue. I love what they did with the acoustic versions, and it's really cool to see how much a song can change when you take a totally different approach to it. One of my favorite acoustic recordings by anyone.

Hey—I'm glad you enjoyed the song, Deadeye! It's one of my favorites from Anathema's depressive period.
