I would never slag a song before the scores but Sugar Mice is the single worst thing Dream Theater has ever done to one of their songs. Surrounded ‘07 had such a nice intro but to end it with Daddy took a rain check??
I’m sure it’s a Me thing but I don’t get it.

I don’t really get it’s inclusion there either. My point of bringing it up is that I knew about that particular section of Sugar Mice because of it. Believe me, I could definitely live with it not being there.

I could be misremembering, but wasn’t it included there because Sugar Mice was sort of an influence on the song?

Also, it’s worth checking out some of the live versions of Sugar Mice with Steve Hogarth on vocals (he replaced Fish after that album). It’s hard to find one that has all the parts of the original (sometimes they drop the “daddy took a rain check” section, sometimes they drop the solo, etc. This is one of my favorites but it does not include the solo. I actually prefer the way Hogarth sings it (though it stinks to lose the solo).

https://marillionofficial.bandcamp.com/track/sugar-mice

So I actually own Script, Misplaced Childhood, and Clutching At Straws.

My favorite is Script, which I think is really cool, but then they get progressively worse. I've only listened to Clutching once. It really did nothing for me.

Makes sense, since Clutching at Straws is the best of the Fish albums for me, and I don’t care for Script much at all!

I'm about to send very soon... I've decided to take a little risk instead, and see how I fare with sending something a little bit weirder.

Plenty of ways to play it. I think you’re getting to work me out so you know what risk to take. Hell, Dear Hunter was still a risk last round, so you can’t be doing too badly, hey?

Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed the song, Deadeye! The Smiths are fantastic, and that album in particular is a favorite of mine. I would also really strongly encourage you to check out Carrie and Lowell, seeing as how you enjoyed the Sufjan Stevens song. There's no album more deserving of "somber and beauty" than Carrie and Lowell.

I'll send for round 3 shortly

Yeah, I second this. Just beware that, lyrically, it's very personal and might make you a bit uncomfortable :P

Drive My Car - The Beatles
Sent by Elite

You have to respect the musical legacy of The Beatles for all it was, but this song is just one I don’t overly care for. It’s well structured, the solo is cool, but it kinda passes by without leaving any real impact on me apart from thinking “wtf was that ‘beep beep mm beep beep yeah’ thing about?” Far from the strongest effort from a band with such a great catalogue.

3 + 1

The beep beep yeah part is fun. The whole song is fun. The Beatles are fun, it doesn't have to about anything. I like this one. It might be up there with my favourite Beatles tunes. You should try playing it as well; the vocal lines are pretty tricky to pull off (you'll need a second singer) while playing without sounding terrible.
Anyway, how would you know this is far from their strongest effort if you hadn't even heard this track before?

Sending more Beatles!
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.
