First impression: This song reminds me of Steven Wilson

I'm also vaguely reminded of Talk Talk, a band I love, but this one is quite different. It definitely goes into a softer, more melodic style of prog that's usually my cup of tea rather than the more technical one. It's a lovely song and reaches a very interesting climax, while having so many things going on. I kinda wished the vocal melodies were a bit catchier, but they work fine here.

Excellent! There is definitely a Talk Talk influence in Marillion, and Steve Hogarth does have a similar vocal delivery to Mark Hollis (at times). That’s how I first was introduced to Talk Talk actually. I think you would enjoy this album for sure (one of my favorite albums period), and also probably would like Brave and Marbles (those are the three top Hogarth era albums).
