i think a song mostly in 5/8 with a mid-song tempo & time signature change is gonna be more "prog" than a lot of stuff i've seen called "prog" over the years, at least

Since the end is my favorite piece of music ever, I'm ruling out the last one.  It could well be the first one, though the last half of the song is instrumental, so I'm ruling that one out.  So that leaves "mixed bag" and "mess".  I'm going to commit to "This song is a mixed bag".
