Furnance issue
« on: December 24, 2021, 01:16:44 PM »
I have a stage 1 furnace in my basement that heats both the basement and main floor.
If the main floor is running, the dampers direct airflow to the main level only and vice versa.
This past Friday I was out and noticed that even though my main floor thermostat was set to 67 the temperature dropped to 65.
It wasn't until I returned home that I observed that it was blowing cool air.
Through trial and error I've found that if I turn off the main floor, let the basement run, switch that off and turn the main floor back on again it starts to blow hot air.
What keeps happening is that if neither one of the systems have run in an hour or so once the main floor drops below the set temperature, instead of the furnace heating up or blowing hot air it immediately starts to blow cool air almost as if the fan has kicked on.
Keep in mind, the fan is off and my settings haven't changed since the summer.
I had the damper system serviced and control panel replaced back in June.
I had a service tech come out this past Monday.
He addressed a few simple things like cleaning the igniter switch, but did not observe anything that stood out to him.
He basically said everything looks good.
Any thoughts?
I was hoping to get some advice/recommendations before having someone come back out again.

Happy Holidays!
