Added Ace Frehley at Toad's Place in May.   Seated show, so I'm guessing there won't be more than 500 people tops (though, let's be honest; the show went on sale in December and is still available, so there won't be 500 regardless!)

Well, got the ticket for my 1st show of the year.  Going to be Shinedown at the Wiltern in LA.  Saw a Pit ticket from Tickpick for $51.00.  Given that's how much I would normally pay a band for non-Pit GA at the Wiltern (what I paid for Sevendust/Skillet, Within Temptation, and Switchfoot), that's a great get.  As a reference point, I've paid $71.00 for Alter Bridge back in 2020 in the same place in the same spot and that was pretty much almost the best show ever (except for one thing that I rather not talk about).  Sure, Shinedown are pretty much caricatures of what they were 10 years ago, but they still deliver a decent enough show with a lot of singalongs, so it's an easy get.  It's kinda surreal.  About three years ago, they were playing a nearby amphitheater where Ticketmaster had $60.00 each for Pit seats the day of, but you had to buy two to get the deal.  My first ever concert was them in 2013 at the LA County fair for free in the bleachers.  Now I'm going to see them up close, in my favorite indoor venue ever, for $51.00 and Ticketmaster has it listed under platinum pricing for $170.00.  I'm very much in bliss that way.

Shinedown with Ayron Jones - Wiltern Theater - Los Angeles, CA.  January 28th, 2022.

Seeing BOC in March for their 50th anniversary.   Just crazy.

Hopefully The Analogues in a couple of weeks, with my dad.

They are a Beatles cover band, but a special one, seeing they carefully studied how the music was made and try to use the exact same gear (guitars, amps etc.) as The Beatles did. Over here they are quite a big name for a cover band, sometimes playing in halls like Ziggodome.

Well.
We'll see if my Dream Theater show in Feb goes ahead or not. Seems like only Canada thinks covid is a thing.
I'm hoping to see Maiden in October.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.

Dream Theater, as of now, seems a go.  I know of a few tours that are just starting now as well.  A few did also do postponements, but based on DT's socials, it seems they are ready to go.

The show I am seeing in a couple weeks in NYC looks like a go right now, the tour started already and is happening.  I hope they can keep it rolling without issues though, I am very much looking forward to seeing a live show again.

Knotfest Roadshow tour for 2022 announced today.

Adding the Brooklyn show to my list.  I'd love to go back to my alma mater to see this, but the last concert I saw there left a sour taste in my mouth of ever wanting to see a concert on the PSU campus again.

Cypress Hill is an odd choice, I think that will be fun but not sure how the Slipknot crowd will enjoy them given how unhappy people were with Volbeat opening for them a few years ago.

That's a lot of bands for only one day.  Don't even think the "biggest" named bands on the line-up would get proper playing time.  This could be one of those IHeartRadio like festivals where the bands would get like 20-30 minutes and play only the hits.

Edit: On a different note, I feel really good knowing that I bought my ticket last week to see Shinedown next week at $50.00 and see that GA Pit prices on the secondary market has more than doubled that price.  Getting better at being savvy at this.

Even having 3 stages, that's a whole lot of cramming in bands for one day. Yowza. Every girl I went to high school with who rocked extreme amounts of eyeliner and raccoon dyed teased hair will love it  :lol

All I really want from most of these bands are the hits anyways lol

Doing some quick, silly math, I roughly count 70 bands on the flyer. To see those bands in stand alone concerts, say on a 4 band bill, for lets say $30 a show (low price I think based on the market these days), it would cost $525. So the price isn't bad. And who wants to see 1.5hours of Hawthorn Heights? Give me Ohio is For Lovers and move on. I don't need songs from their 2017 album I've never heard lol

That festival is pretty crazy if you like that kind of music.  But it all being 1 day means it'll be impossible to see most of the bands. If it were local, I'd totally go but I wouldn't travel for it.  Just too much unknown of who you'd actually be able to see and with my luck all the bands I want to see would be playing at the same time on different stages.

Wow.. Two shows in WA and one in ID, yet completely skipped Northern California. Talk about turning the tables.  :lol

Don't really care, Jinjer would be the only draw for me.

I saw this yeterday and I out of all the festival posters I see yearly this one probably has the most recognizable bands. 15 year old Reaper would love this line-up.

April 17th - Biffy FUCKING Clyro - House of Blues Chicago
April 21st - Transatlantic - Arcada Theater St. Charles, IL
April 28th - The Warning - Bottom Lounge Chicago

I cannot believe I get to see Biffy Clyro at the HoB! That was a huge no-brainer. Couple that with TA and seeing The Warning, wow, what a month.

That's a lot of solid punk rock  :metal

I'm at the Neal Morse show in NYC and the Transatlantic show in NJ if you want to catch a beer.

For sure. Figured you'd be a shoo-in for DT at the Oakdale too.

The Oakdale show is on my list as well.  I'm holding off making firm plans until the tour gets rolling but I am planning on going to that one right now. I got my front row ticket for the Red Bank show so I don't care if I sit in the back for that one.

Some concerts were annnounced for the summer recently so my list is now updated:

January 30th - Set it Off @ Irving Plaza, New York City NY
February 10th - Ghost & Volbeat @ Prudential Center, Newark NJ
February 27th - Journey & Billy Idol @ Prudential Center, Newark NJ
March 3rd - AFI @ Terminal 5, New York City NY
March 5th - Dream Theater & Arch Echo @ Oakdale Theatre, Wallingford CT
March 9th - Dream Theater & Arch Echo @ Count Basie Theater, Red Bank NJ
March 11th - 311 @ Park Theater, Las Vegas NV
March 12th - 311 @ Park Theater, Las Vegas NV --- Finally booked this trip so it's official!
March 22nd - Alice Cooper & Buckcherry @ NJPAC, Newark NJ
March 30th - Dirty Honey & Mammoth WVH @ Starland Ballroom, Sayreville NJ
April 2nd - Greta Van Fleet & Rival Sons @ Hard Rock Hotel, Atlantic City NJ
April 3rd - Dragonforce, Battle Beast & Seven Spires @ Irving Plaza, New York City NY
April 28th - Arch Enemy, Behemoth & Napalm Death @ Terminal 5, New York City NY
May 8th - Nightwish & Beast in Black @ Terminal 5, New York City NY

June 11th - Sammy Hagar’s The Circle & George Thorogood @ PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ
June 12th - Haken & Symphony X @ Wellmont Theater, Montclair NJ
June 25th - Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison & Joan Jett @ Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia PA
August 14th - Rage Against the Machine & Run the Jewels @ Madison Square Garden, New York City NY
August 17th - Red Hot Chili Peppers & The Strokes @ Metlife Stadium, East Rutherford NJ
August 27th - Kid Rock & Foreigner @ PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ

I'm kicking that around.  At first it was low probability, but it's increasing as we speak.   March is a decent time.  Might still be a game-day decision, but looking promising.

All right, first show of the year for me is today.  Seeing Shinedown at the Wiltern,  In the pit section for relatively cheap.

On another note, holy smokes the DT show in LA is a week from Saturday?  I haven't really realized it's that soon.

I got Nightwish and Riverside in Toronto in the spring.  Pain of Salvation are coming to town too in the spring but haven't decided yet.
