Concerts for 2022
« on: December 06, 2021, 02:09:34 PM »
I did not see a thread for 2022, but if there is one admins can delete.

Besides the rescheduled Dream Theater(Grand Ole Opry House), I was looking at small venues in Nashville and Leprous and The Ocean Collective are schedule in March at the Exit-Inn(500 capacity). I saw Bent Knee, Leprous and Haken there a few years ago. I really like what I hear from The Ocean Collective.
Quote from: Flying BIZKIT

Yeah, I hate when I visit the local circus and all they fucking play is Haken.

I got the rescheduled Dream Theater show at the Microsoft Theater in LA in February.
I also got the rescheduled Daughtry show with Tremonti (no Sevendust this time though) at the Novo in LA in March.

Other than that, Ghost and Volbeat in Anaheim is an option.  Iron Maiden in Anaheim is also an option.  I hope to see Myles Kennedy this summer if he can finally get those solo West Coast shows going before going back to touring with Slash or Alter Bridge (and I hope I can see them at some point in 2022 as well.  That one is not a definitive bank though).

Could be another great year for shows barring, well, what happened in 2020.

I'll be seeing NMB in Cleveland 2/15, and Transatlantic in Philly on 4/15. I've never been to Philly, or seen TA, so this should be a fun little adventure.
All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again

I just saw the doc, and thought I noticed backing musicians in some of the recent footage, but am not certain. The 2 brothers are the only official members now of course.

Bought tickets in 2019 for Nightwish (2020) and 2020 for Blind Guardian (2021), both are rescheduled to 2022. And I have tickets for Transatlantic, which I recently bought.

I will now only buy tickets a couple of weeks in advance for the time being. The amount of reschedules and refund forms was getting a bit out of hand over the last two years.

Got an email this morning that Disturbed is playing in NJ at the MMRBQ, gave in and got a pair of tickets. Don't know what I got tickets for but Disturbed is playing, so why not.

3 shows so far:

Dream Theater - March 5th
Bunbury - May 6th
Disturbed - May 21st.

I may go to the MMRBQ myself but only Disturbed I'm familiar with.  I may just go because I thought the event was really fun a few months ago that even if I don't know all the bands, I know I'd have fun just because of the atmosphere and how the event is run.  However, I wouldn't be surprised if Disturbed do a full summer tour and also play at PNC (they were supposed to in 2020 and instead of rescheduling they cancelled that whole tour) so that's why I'm not rushing to get a ticket.

I wonder how Disturbed holds up these days. I saw them open for Korn almost 20 years ago (jesus christ I'm old) and they were really good

Last time I saw them was 2019 or 2018 at MSG and they sounded incredible. One of my criticism for disturbed was that their music was made with layers of guitars that could not be replicated live, but they have gotten better with that. They still have their core sound, and David Draiman still sound great live. Worth seeing them if you enjoy their music.

From 2004-2008, disturbed used to be my favorite band, then DT came along  :metal

Ah, that's interesting. If they do announce a full summer tour that might change things for me, since Camden is a 2 hour drive for me.

yeah, Camden is a bit out there and makes for an overnight stay which I'd rather not do just for Disturbed.  I'm not THAT big of a fan.  I was also at that MSG concert a few years ago and saw them (in 15 or 16) at PNC. Thought they were solid live both times.  I was never a huge Draiman fan, always thought he was kind of a dick, but I think he's come around and while their latest album was just OK, I actually like Draiman more than ever now. They were supposed to do 20 years of The Sickness playing the full album in 2020, I do wish they would actually do that even if its 22 years later.  (hell the Aerosmith 50th anniversary show is still on even though it will be 52 years come the date).

I enjoyed Disturbed when I saw them in 2019 at the Forum with the Adam Gontier-less Three Days Grace opening.  Felt like a very good arena show.  I wished they had rescheduled to do the 20 years of The Sickness, because that had a good bill with Staind and Bad Wolves on it.  I had good seats at the nearby amphitheater.

As of now I have tickets for these, all in Stockolm.
Hopefully these will happen.
Some of these have been rebooked multiple times.

In 2021 I only got to see one concert and 3 in 2020 so the anticipation is high.....

I'm in the same boat. I saw Jinjer this year and I bought the tickets one day before the actual gig after the band posted a pic of them in Moscow saying the gig is definitely happening.

I've got ProgPower Europe (bought the ticket in 2019) and Nightwish (also bought the ticket in 2019) perhaps coming in 2022. I'll go and see iamthemorning whenever they decide to play here again. That's about it for now.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Wow, Darkness at Asbury Lanes?  I guess they've fallen quite a bit.  I may check that out, but I haven't listened to them in a looong time.

We are going to be at a lot of the same shows.

I'd love to see Elton John at Metlife, I haven't even looked but I guess I may be priced out.  Maybe day of show I'll be able to snag one.  I got to see him once in LA and if the setlist isn't different, I'm not sure I want to pay more to have a worse view.  I'm just not the biggest fan to want to spend so much on him, especially when the "farewell" tour just doesn't seem like it's going to end.

Man, the California show for Coheed and Cambria is so dang far away.  It's in San Bernardino in what looks to be a pretty old-fashioned club/restaurant, not too far from the Joshua Tree park.  Way too far of a drive.  On a Wednesday as well.  Ain't happening for me.  Riverside was as far I was willing to drive.  If only they were able to play in the same place they had booked in 2020 before the shutdown.
