Mid-80s, I think?

It's odd that this thread happened; I looked at a copy of the 22nd Ann. Edition of it on ebay a few weeks back and now eBay has been emailing me repeatedly to see if I want to buy it.
Hire me. I'm talentless but malleable.

Very good album.  I like Jon a LOT more in Yes when he's balanced by Squire, et al. "Pure" Jon is sometimes a lot to take; but this is a good album.

I doubt it.

EDIT:  That's not a slam against you.  I've just seen you talk about it before, much more than I've ever seen anyone else talk about it.  That's all I meant.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

In my defense, my dad had this album on repeat during the season when I was growing up. It’s a part of my childhood.

Well, considering I saw the thread title and was wondering why I care that his copy of a Jon Anderson album has shipped, I have never heard if it. I only know Jon outside of Yes with Roine and the ABWH album.

I realize it is like this:

Jon Anderson - 3 Ships

Even now, my brain reads it completely wrong.  :lol
beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Ha. Glad to hear JA3 is not facing production delays  ;D

I have the record, one of many vinyl albums collected from thrift stores over the years, but had never played it. I listened the other day at the suggestion of this thread. And...

I liked it. There were more original songs than I was expecting. It definitely felt like a sincere artistic work and not just a collection of Christmas covers. I generally share Stadler's assessment of Jon vs Yes. Yes is one of my favorite bands of all time, but some of Jon's impulses annoy me so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'll give it some more listens for sure.

The production is definitely dated, which doesn't really bother me but probably means I won't try to introduce it into our family's Christmas music rotation. Still that's a total double standard, as my family adores Mannheim Steamroller.
