I'm not sure I've listened to Regression since the first time I heard the CD. Eminently skippable, and Overture 1928 is a much cooler opener.

Regression is fair. But I will be looking to eliminate Home ASAP.

I will make alliances to help Beyond This Life go as far as possible. Hopefully all the way to #1.

One Last Time. Taken on its own, I can't think of a reason why I would ever want to listen to that song when Finally Free does what it does better.

First LitS and now Home. I thought we were friends!

As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I really like One Last Time. Maybe it's because Botrill mixed it, but I always thought it sounded different (and better) than the other tracks.

There are a couple easy outs here -- Regression being the most obvious -- and then this one will get pretty tough pretty quick.

My only prediction is that TSCO will do a LOT better than it deserves.

I feel like Regression and then Through My Words are obvious, unless you actively dislike one of the other songs.

One Last Time. Taken on its own, I can't think of a reason why I would ever want to listen to that song when Finally Free does what it does better.

But the highlight of One Last Time isn't the chorus, it's the final section! "Here I am inside his home" through the end. One of the best parts of the album lyrically, and the music lives up to it.

Gotta be Regression
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Lovely intro but Regression is the easy pick here.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

See, I like the verse part with the cool rhythm guitar and wish they would have extended the song a bit to include a second verse and chorus. The instrumental section is pretty cool too with the little bass solo and guitar solo.

That part's pretty good, too, but it's more or less a reprise of the chorus from Strange Deja Vu, and... well, I also think Strange Deja Vu does it better.

Regression, which to be fair, isn’t really a song as much as an intro, and a great intro at that.

Maybe, but this isn't just OLT v. FF.  Are you saying Regression is better than OLT?

Oh, yeah, I know. I was just saying that Finally Free's reprise of OTL's chorus is much better than the chorus in OTL itself (which is still good).
And yes, I do prefer Regression, although that's mainly because I feel like it gives the reprise in TSCO a lot more impact.
