So Called Friend...7.5
This is actually a cool song. The druns are really powerful. The pre chorus, or is it post chorus, is played to a nice beefy riff. And I like the chorus as well. Excellent vocal in that. Overall, a nice to the point submission that I really liked.

The first thing that jumps out at me is the drum pattern. Not difficult, but inviting. The drums are really the best part of the song. They have a great sound, especially the hi-hat. When the song intensifies a bit about four and a half minutes in, the drums are fantastic. I don’t know that this song does anything spectacular, but it’s quite trance-like and really cool.

Luminol (SW)...8.3
I like the beginning to this. Nice audible bass, and the drumming reminds me of Stewart Copeland. Cool keyboard solo about three minutes in. The middle section is pretty nice. I like the piano solo. The ending is interesting. I like that it rocks. Solid track for sure.
Dark Matter...8.5
Another mellowish tune that keeps a really nice pace. It’s mellow, but not boring. Has a pink Floyd feel to it, with a hint of Led Zeppelin. I like the keyboard around 5:20 as it introduces the solo section. This is a great solo too. Really strong notes. Excellent song. I love it!

Fear Of A Blank Planet...8.4
The acoustic intro feels like a slower version of the one in Flotsam & Jetsam’s Final Step. X-Box is a God to me? WTF?? Did he just say that? I like the pace to this, and the chorus is catchy. I like the John Paul Jones keyboards at 6:10. Overall, a really strong song, but damn, these lyrics blow.
The Sound Of Musak...7.5
So I have definitely heard this before. It may have been on the mix CD that I got 15 years ago. The chorus sounds familiar. I don’t love the verses, but the chorus is nice and the song is more than pleasant.

Strip The Soul...7.2
This song is fairly unexciting for the first three minutes. I like the jammy RHCP part at 3:38, and I love the short drum flourish to end that section at 5:08.This ends real heavy, but unfortunately, this song is a miss for me.
Anesthetize...7.9
So I like the first part a lot. Keeps a steady pace, and while it plays it safe, I’m still quite engaged. Culminating an Alex Lifeson solo that’s cool to hear. The song picks up for the Pills section. Nice hi-hat sound in the verse part of this section. The chorus is good too. I assume the Surfer section is unconsciousness. More John Paul Jones styled keyboards in this part. This last part has grown on me since the first listen. I can’t say I love it, but I think I understand it. This is a long song, but it’s generally enjoyable throughout. It never really drags until the Surfer part, but I guess they were going for that.

Don’t Hate Me...8.4
This is a pretty chill song. If I ignore the lyrics, this is excellent. I love the chorus, and SW’s voice is quite interesting. Really love the note choices in the chorus’ vocals. But goddamn, fucking gag me with these words. I’ll fucking hate you if I want, pussy. This solo section is cool. Is that a flute? Cool sax too. Excellent drumming here as well. About the 5 minute mark on for this spacey section, the bass reminds me of Fields Of The Nephilim. Last Exit For The Lost or something. Another chorus and nice outro solo to close it out. Excellent tune.

Russia On Ice...8.5
The very beginning reminds me of The Rain Song. Big time Pink Floyd going on here. The solo that starts right before the 5 minute mark is gloriously paced. I can do without the electronic effects as the song picks up. I like that it stays instrumental in the heavy section. Rides out with some soft noise. This is really good music to chill too. I would’ve loved this when I was still getting baked. Heck, I love it now!

This seems to stay pretty consistent with the studio version, right to the run time. Kudos for them for playing the whole song live, but not kudos for you for making me listen to the live version when like ten other people sent me the studio version.
Hatesong (Live)...8.0
I didn’t check out the studio version so I have no point of reference. But this song is heavy and beefy in spots. The “yeah yeah yeah”s are awful though. But instrumentally, they are tight as hell. I feel like if I get anything by PT, it’d be a live album.

Lightbulb Sun...8.4
Is this Jimmy Page on guest guitar? Sound like him in the acoustic intro and the chorus riff. I like this song a lot. The verse is cool enough. Has an Alex Lifeson style solo at 2:25ish. I love the solo again at 4:00. Great climax. The song chills in the end, which is a nice touch. At five and a half minutes, it’s on point, but I could’ve gone another minute easy of that second solo. Excellent tune.
