in memoriam losing the wildcard also doesn't surprise me because it's the weakest track on the mountain 
on one hand i understand drowning in the flood as a song pick but also i don't think the entire slower back half is gonna do much for TAC, we'll see i guess, i'm probably completely wrong

I went with Drowning in the Flood because I wanted something off Aquarius (which is essentially tied with The Mountain as my favorite Haken album) and Celestial Elixir felt a little too risky because length and circus. I nearly doubled down on Aquarius songs with Drowning in the Flood and Eternal Rain, but decided to go for a bit of diversity.

But that's not always the smartest move. Yeah, I like metal, but I really want to know what makes these bands special. I don't listen to Dream Theater for their metal side. I like that they take a metal styled interpretation of progressive rock.

That's why sending HEAVY Devin or HEAVY Haken could prove risky.

Thank you to Richard for sending the two songs that my brother had guest appearances on. Apart from Only Stars obviously. I considered those songs (well, mainly Puzzle Box) as I love them plus to support Pete, but I wasn't sure about Tim's attitude towards the electronic percussion sections so ended up going with songs I thought would be safer.

I think In Memoriam is their best heavy short song, which I thought would be a good place to be if Tim turns out to still just not be a fan of Haken.

In Memoriam is brilliant, I considered it too. I might slightly prefer The Endless Knot but yet those two are awesome short, heavy songs.
