I just cannot comprehend thinking this of the band that recorded Celestial Elixir, Visions and Falling Back to Earth. It's like saying Peruvian Skies is Dream Theater's best song. Tastes are super weird.
Whereas I can't comprehend your logic as those three songs are all completely different to each other, so I don't get the comparison (other than presumably you loving all those songs). Tastes are super awesome.
Yeah, it's not a matter of style, it's a matter of perceived quality, which I'm obviously not arguing is objectively provable (I don't want to range that wildly in this thread). I could have named other examples, but those are three songs that I think are way better than 1985 (and that I think tend to be popular among Haken fans).
It's like if I compared Peruvian Skies to Metropolis, The Glass Prison and Octavarium. To me, those three songs are far better than Peruvian Skies. And so I would be surprised (
) if someone liked Peruvian Skies better. I have similar feelings of surprise at people liking 1985 better than Celestial Elixir, Visions and Falling Back to Earth. But it's not a personal criticism, just a discussion of preferences.
