Well, I scratched out 16 of the 20 writeups. I have 4 songs left, but it's almost 45 minutes of music, and I don't have that in me tonight. So we're on pace for Wednesday for sure.

These songs take a bit to break down. Kind of tough in a roulette round, but I really enjoyed pretty much most of what I heard today. It was kind of the same with Haken when I was doing writeups. It was like the clouds started to part a bit.

Hey, speaking of Haken, it seems their keyboardist left the band after my roulette round. Good. He was easily my least favorite part of their sound. Nothing against keyboardists...of course.

Right but they never came out and said he was gone until yesterday but you saw in socal media that he separated himself not posting about the band.

Add that he wasn't prominent on their last album. Rich, hinted it was legal which made sense.

We just had to piece it together.

5:14 of Bad Habits could've come right off of Assault Attack.
Now I'm going to have to go back and listen to Bad Habits and listen for the similarities...

I've heard it in a number of songs. I posted that before Bad Habits came on, and that part really jumped out at me.

In fact, my First Impression of another song mentions Schenker.

I hear it. Enjoyed it too. The harsh vocals I could do without but they aren't the worst I've heard. At least I didn't turn it off!

Well....

I made it. Writeups are complete. I have to say, that was a chore to get through. Especially trying to finish it off today, even though the last four songs, for the most part, are some of the better tracks.

After I clean my ears, I'm going to spend the rest of the day dropping the needle verify my rankings and ultimately assigning scores.

So the Steam Powered Giraffes were sent to me in my second roulette. The song was a vocal masterpiece. I think it actually did OK. It was the first thing I thought of.

Am I a fan? I only listened once, and I thought it was kind of cool. I have a great Haken playlist from this roulette, and I will definitely give their albums a run through when this is over.
