I love the large amount of clean vocals in this song. [The Proverbial Bellow]

This song is fucked up, which I know could also be said for any other track in the playlist.[King Redeem/Queen Serene]

Starts out pleasant and goes downhill from there.[Monochrome]

A short song with clean vocals.  Doesn’t go anywhere though.[Millions]

It’s tough to cold- listen to 20 BTBAM songs in a row. My ears were glazing over at points. The harsh vocals are so bad it was at times tough to differentiate the music underneath. Subsequent listens have helped clear it up though. It was the same way with a bunch of the Haken tunes.

Well, Parallax came out in a time that I wasn't really that interested in yet another BTBAM album, because they're so dense and I was looking for other stuff in music back then I guess. I remember that specifically during Lay Your Ghosts to Rest that I just zoned out and turned it off. I couldn't handle it at that point, despite loving Colors for example. That first experience with Parallax led me to not listening to it in full until years later. Coma Ecliptic did the same, but I did finish that one. The Automata albums pulled me back in to BTBAM and it was that year that I actually finished Parallax II for the first time

Parallax II is definitely my favorite of the post-TGM albums, but it certainly doesn't reach the heights of the two albums that came before it.

The Automatas are their lowest point since then, imo. Automata I was fine but very un-impactful and Automata II barely even feels like an album. Voice Of Trespass is just Bad Devil but worse (let's see if Tim disagrees ) and The Grid sucks as a closer.

See, I’m the exact opposite.  Parallax is where I think they finally figured out how to make all the wankery compelling, and able to serve a purpose rather than being there for its own sake.  Coma Ecliptic is an even further refinement of that idea.  With Automata and now Colors II, I think they’re just tweaking the formula.

I've enjoyed everything pst Colors for the most part, although I couldn't get into Automata at all, that just is missing something for me.

Coma Ecliptic was a huge grower and I love it now.  Parallax is amazing and probably my second favourite after Colors.
