Music's okay, lyrics are not that good IMO.

I'd go as far as to say it's their worst ballad. Not a bad song in itself, but up against Vacant, Dissapear etc...no way.
We are not a match.

I really like this and it connects to me lyrically

WAS GOING TO MAKE A NEW THREAD, then I remembered the index is there for a reason.

This is my favorite DT song of the past five albums personally, it feels almost like a lost suite section to The Count of Tuscany for some reason. How does this one rank in your ADTOE songranks after all this time? I also feel like this song is like a half-brother to "Out of Reach" from 2019. Both songs feel vaguely connected at heart.
Half of my posts are satire; the other half are serious. If you can't tell which half you're looking at, it's probably the former. I enjoy busting chops amongst likeminded fellows. Where better to feel at home than among the fans of the world's most fun band? :)

Trav

I've always liked this one a lot, as well as Far From Heaven. I'm glad they played them throughout that tour. In fact I'm a fan of all of their ballads. For me they do well with them, and James shines in that style. It's something that sets him apart from other "metal" singers.

Color me surprised ;)

Yeah, this one is a gem and one of JLB's best vocals to date. Some pretty damn heavy lyrics there as well.

Quote from: Mladen on September 15, 2011, 11:48:41 AMTruly a wonderful song, my favorite only next to the magnificent Bridges in the sky.
I can still somewhat stand behind this statement, though Breaking all illusions is close as well. What a gorgeous song, it aged incredibly well.

Quote from: Jamesman42 on September 16, 2011, 06:16:08 PMLove this song. Started learning the basic chords and vocal melody for piano. It's pretty easy, but it sounds SO nice and works well to improv on as well...
I saw this thread and had this thought and I still think this. Lovely, simple song.
\o\ lol /o/

Cool Chris

This was my #1 song in the 1st DT song countdown, and my #1 song in the 2nd DT countdown. I knew DT would be fine a couple minutes in to my first listen of ADToE. I knew they had great songs in them like Bridges and BAI. I did not know they had a song like BTS in them at that stage in their career.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.
