Very solid album. I love all the variation to their clean vocals.

and nearly all the songs are "hits" for me..not too many misses on that cd..if even one. I love Lady Delmore.

No, I'm just confused what that has to do with BTBAM, they don't sound anything alike.

Anyone else have a play list with 9 repeats of Mirrors? It's scaring me how much I've listened to this song and haven't gotten anywhere near sick of it yet. It's a masterpiece from beginning to end, and one of the greatest album openers I've heard. I've only listened to Obfuscation a few times simply because I keep repeating this damn song. With that said...Obfuscation is an amazing song, and I like how the former cascades into the ladder.

Suffice it to say I am now excited to hear the rest of this album. I'm not saying anything about it surpassing Colors yet, but... :-X

Yea, wiki's got a mind of its own. It puts anything where it wants it and bullshits stuff for everybody.

Kidding lol, but yeah that's the cover and it's already been linked in either this thread or The Great Misdirect thread.

Do you remember what In Flames and The Faceless' setlists were?  Did The Faceless have a keyboard/synth player playing with them?

I came a few minutes into 3 Inches Of Blood so sorry, no The Faceless setlist. But I heard they tore the place apart. I haven't listened to 3 Inches Of Blood in so long that the only songs I recognized were The Goatrider's Horde, Deadly Sinners, and Night Marauders. In Flames setlist was this...

Cloud Connected
Embody The Invisible
Pinball Map
Delight And Angers
Disconnected
Square Nothing
The Hive
Drifter
Clayman
Come Clarity
Leeches
Alias
The Mirrors Truth
The Quiet Place
Take This Life
My Sweet Shadow

Good setlist, great show. My only complaint is how dead the crowd got during The Hive and Square Nothing. There were so few in the audience that recogized these gems which haven't been brought out since their albums' tours. Oh and the absence of Trigger was disappointing. The chorus was the highlight of the show last time I saw them. but all in all, great night.

That's kind of a short setlist for BTBAM. Aren't they coheadlining?

That's what I thought too, but they were only on for 45-50 minutes. In Flames had the stage for 80ish.

That's a good In Flames set.

That's the reason that they rarely play old stuff.  I remember they played a couple songs of off Jester Race the last time I saw them, and no one gave a shit.  It's terrible.  People go crazy for the new stuff (I think their newest CD is garbage) and don't even know the old stuff.

Yeah the only old songs people really lose their mind over are Pinball Map, Moonshield, and Only For The Weak. Embody The Invisible got a great response too. I don't think their new album is garbage, but it certainly follows the same path they've gone since they switched to alt metal. It's less good stuff but every band has to evolve their sound. The Mirrors Truth, The Chosen Pessimist, and Alias are great songs imo. Delight And Angers is pretty good too.

The Chosen Pessimist is my favourite In Flames song  :blush

BUT before you flame me to death, Jester Race is my fav album :P

And wait, how do they not go crazy for for Square Nothing?! I would take episode 666 over The Hive anyday though. I would kill for Zombie Inc. too :D Not to Mention The Jester Race (song)  :sadpanda:

Ok, so based on everyone's recommendations, I've listened to Selkies a few times, and if this is pretty typical of their sound, I'm going to have to say I don't care for it. Although I love the softer "clean" vocal part halfway though, the growling is awful to listen to.

Do they have any songs that are ALL "clean" (no growling at all)?

Not really. Shevanel Take 2 is all clean, and Viridian is instrumental, but that's about it. No 'real' songs.

Because Square Nothing is a very obscure song, as good as it is. I won't lie, it took me a few seconds to realize what song they were playing. Well they played Episode 666 last time they were here and Jotun the time before that so I guess they wanted to bring out The Hive instead of those other two. I don't think they've played Zombie Inc in a very long time. That song would be tough to pull off with the triple layered guitars and stuff and the whole reason they simplified their sound was so it would be easier to pull it off live. I don't think we'll ever see Zombie Inc again.

New album spoilers? Where?!

Mirrors (off new album but the album hasn't been released)
Viridian
Foam Born (A) The Backtrack (a little growling at the end)
Shevanel Take 2
Mordecai (some growling throughout)

Most of the other songs have mostly growls.
