Just scored tix for the Feb 8th show in Seattle, hopefully it doesn't get thwarted by cornholio again.

They moved from tha Paramount Theater to a large arena in Kent.  If find this a really odd choice, as DT doesn't get any love from the local radio stations.  I don't  see them selling 7000+ seats even though they are more than worthy of that..

Damn, I don't know what is worse as a Snohomish County resident: Going to downtown Seattle on a weeknight, or going to Kent on a weeknight.

Trust me. Kent ain’t a picnic, but it’s worlds better than Seattle right now. Kent down by the station and ShoWare is one of the nicer parts of Kent right now. We have often gone to the theater that’s about a block from there.

Still on the fence about going. I haven’t been to any event since Iron Maiden in Tacoma in 2019.  I just got my booster shot, but I’m still a bit wary.

I’ll probably go if I can find good seats, but the floor stuff was all gone when I checked the other day.  I might check StubHub.

I guess I’ve been feeling really wishy washy about this one. My con list is almost as long as my pro list. I’m in between jobs, the outlook is uncertain, trying to be more conservative in my spending lately (and I have seen them 12 times)

...one of the nicer parts of Kent...

Did you type that with a straight face?

I kid, I kid. But seriously...

I was at the ShoWare a while back for some kiddo event and remember being impressed. I'd happily go there, or anywhere for that matter, if it meant avoiding downtown Seattle. But 2+ hours down I5 after work is a tough sell.

It’s an accurate statement. It’s just a very low bar…  :rollin

I was hoping you would appreciate that. I cannot imagine a world without YouTube. The fact that I found that video in about 8 seconds makes me glad to be alive in 2021.

As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Tonight would have been the St Louis show. On a Saturday night. Would have been glorious. :( :(

Sadly, with the rescheduled date being in the middle of the week and the uncertainty of COVID, we requested a refund of our tickets.  If things are looking better with COVID by then and the set list looks beastly, we might rebuy at the last minute and still go, but for now we are taking a pass.

I know. Covid is not going anywhere and we need to proceed in this new “normal”, sadly.

I just think that they could've gotten the fall shows in, whereas I wouldn't be shocked if the winter dates end up in jeopardy.

I read an article as well that major acts are seeing a lot of empty seats at concerts, to the tune of around 20% of tickets sold not being used.

Looking at the DT show here in STL, there are still a crap ton of tickets available, and prices are much lower than they were a few months ago.

Touring is a struggle under normal circumstances. I know a few bands (notable bands) that are considering calling it quits if this continues.

For transparency... I'm 62 in January. I was vaxed, got boosted and STILL got covid last week. Two days not feeling great, but I've been much worse before. After a week of quarantine I got tested again and NEGATIVE! Nothing to see here. Moving on! :chill
