I still don't understand what they think is going to be different in February/March. They could still get sick then too, that is part of life, always has been. The corporate media's fear porn is not going to subside since that is all they've got. Either go out and resume playing music, or continue playing pandemic.
Exactly. Live your life or keep hiding in fear. They can play shows again or they can call it quits.
By that time, they would most likely be facing an economy where people are already more confident to go back out and thus, the economic benefits of going on tour would then hopefully materially outweigh already the risks.
It seems from a business perspective, the band doesn't to risk the losses from having to cancel tours. Which makes me think that the guys just make enough to give us the best possible production they can afford, while also just making enough to embellish in some luxuries.
It's actually wise if you don't want any losses and just want to make profits, while also being able to play to more fans as peoples perceptions and feelings of fear will be dwindled a bit enough to go see a show. Even though many are willing to go to a show, others are not and this affects ticket sales. If they did play, how much of the venues seats would have been sold compared to the average sales in the cities they play? The odds of those seats being about the same or more, they likely predicted a good turnout based on just how excited and how they felt about the album, it's a great indicator for knowing your audience. And people are enjoying it, immensely. Which means that more seats would most likely be bought, if not close to selling out, and those odds are better if they wait until the spring when things may possibly ease a bit more to get to these ticket sales.
A lot of these bands that are touring now can afford to take a loss, while others can not.
What I think this shows us fans is how expensive it is to be able to put on a tour with those flashy, spinning, multicolored lights and video screens, cool mic stands, catwalk platforms, and keyboard designs. If they could, I bet they would get pyro too, I am guessing that costs a lot too.
Anyways these are the reasons I feel now is the reason as was given by the JLB blabbermouth interview.
