A very cool side effect of this roulette, I'm digging into artists that I really haven't listened to in decades. Holy shit the memories man, I really wonder why I left these bands idle for so long, but there's always an influx of new music as well, and only so many hours in the day.

Thanks for making the opportunity for me to trip down memory lane bud, I was so fortunate to grow up with some really good fucking music man.


(also still remember all the lyrics even after 20/30 years, so yay me for not burning out all those neural pathways with drugs and booze lol)

This is awesome, very glad it's a byproduct of the roulette! I was finding the same thing with that retro top albums list thread, especially once we got into the 90s, I found myself going back to albums I hadn't heard in a decade or more and where I remembered most of the lyrics. Love that feeling.

More isn't better or worse, really. One of my favourite first impressions so far has been one of the under-20-minutes.

There's honestly no pressure, people should do what feels right to introduce me to an artist and their style. Personally when I've been in roulettes like this, my longer submissions have been those where I've wanted to showcase different sides of an artist, whereas if the songs I'm sending are pretty similar in style, I feel less need to max out the time.

There's no right or wrong here.

I think it also depends on how long an artists songs are. If they're 2-3 minutes long, that'll be potentially 10 tracks to max out the time, and that's just not necessary by way of introduction.

Anyway, the only person who said in the tracker thread he wanted to join but hasn't sent me anything yet is Elite, but it's the weekend so I'm not going to chase. I also figure one or two other people might make late sign-ups in the next day or two.

T'other Rich has confirmed that he's still playing, he's just had a really busy weekend. It's no problem at all, I myself find that a first round takes the longest/most thinking to gear up to in terms of the rules, scope, figuring out options to send.

My plan is to leave things open until tomorrow (Tuesday) to also give anyone else a chance to join, and then we'll get started on hangman and first impressions.
