Nick and Neal together again, heck yeah! With Ross Jennings though? That’s weird but I’ll try to reserve judgement.

Wow, not too far off from what I was wishing the "secret announcement" would be (was hoping for a NDV and NM project) - but I've got to say, I'm a bit surprised to see Ross Jennings involved.  Should be interesting..

This doesn't wow me, but with three lead vocalists on board, I can't help but give a listen.

I know right? Maybe Jennings will sound better outside a metal environment. His voice feels so processed and almost sterile in Haken. Maybe this will be a better fit for him though. Nick and Neal already sound so great together though. Kind of wonder why they needed a third voice. Will be interesting to see what instruments everyone plays on this.

Does Ross play any instruments? And if so, which one(s) is he good at?

I'm going to assume that Nick will be playing drums, but I also wouldn't mind him playing bass as he's been getting better at it lately. He and Neal might share guitar duties, but i'm sure Neal will primarily contribute keyboards.

Colored me interested, I really want to hear what these three voices sound like together, regardless of the type of music.

Ross plays guitar, though I don't know how skilled he is compared to Neal and Nick. Also, what a missed opportunity to bring Ted Leonard to do this :'(
On the bright side, at least we didn't get Bill or Mike singing

I'll go a bit against the grain and say I'm glad Ross is a part of this, not because he's among my very favorite singers, but because his presence could make this a bit more of a fresh collaboration rather than "yeah this is kind of another iteration of Spock's Beard."

I suppose they could have had a double drum thing with Nick and Mike. That would be kind of cool, but probably not what this project is about!

It seems like a bummer that people are writing off Ross Jennings’ involvement without hearing anything. I get that his voice isn’t for everyone, but this project will showcase him in a way that we haven’t heard before so i would say it’s fair to hold judgment until we hear the music. Besides, if it’s good enough for Neal and NDV, who are we to say otherwise?  ;D

This seems like a project that could be really refreshing compared to other things these vocalists have been involved in.

I will say that I do think Ross does well in softer moments and in his lower register, so if this is not a particularly heavy project (sounds like it started out being mainly acoustic) he might fit really well. It all depends on how they utilize him. I’m certainly interested to hear how this turns out. It could be a very cool collaboration for sure.

I agree with this. His tone works well in those softer moments of Haken, not so much in those real heavy metal moments. He sounds amazing in Deathless, Bound By Gravity, Visions, The Path.

I could hear this going many different ways, but I could hear more of a Light-hearted, Uplifting, maybe Melancholic type of sound and style. It's just based on Neal's almost Christian music style, Nick's Big Big Train and solo work style, and then Jennings Solo and Novena style (which has elements that are not utilized to their full potential in Haken).

Just pointing it out. Many albums out there with the same name by different artists. The Dark Side Of The Moon title had already been used by another band before Pink Floyd went with the title for their album that became one of the most popular albums of all time.

but a band name would have been nice.

This. Nothing says "one off thing that won't have much staying power" like just naming it Morse D'Virgilio Jennings (I think that's the name?).

But it's a new NM project, so I'm excited anyway

The question that really matters is whether track 1 will be an Overture.
