Damn right... Something about the trailer just makes me FEEL that this will be great. As I said - they could easily have just remade the first film. Green filter black leather and Nu Metal soundtrack all round.

But they didn't. That alone gets me hopeful.

ALL THE CHILLS

Also it's probably nothing but the release date is a palindrome. I wonder if it's significant. Keanu has reportedly said they don't go backwards in time in the movie...

I hope it is good. But I'll believe it when I see it. I feel with the Wachowski's it can either be (very) good or (very) bad.

Some people LOVE Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas, and Sense8 seemed to be very popular. They just need someone else writing it.

---

Just saw a comment on the trailer " I'm not sure about this - they forgot all the green LOL ".

MuFuka that's what's so great about the trailer. Even if this film is amazing - some people will still be " worst film ever made. no morpheus SHIT "

And it'll end up as the film you're supposed to hate.

If a film gets a bad reputation that's it. Everyone always will go " Matrix 4 was shit LOL ". Even if it was pretty good.

I love Cloud Atlas. Hated Speed Racer when I saw it as a teen. I have only watched their films, so don't know about Sense8.

I did always enjoy The Matrix sequels, but it has been a long time since I have seen them.

Same here, which is why when I saw this 4-disc collection on Amazon for only $14.99 last week, I decided to buy it so I can rewatch the trilogy (and The Animatrix) before Resurrections comes out.

so don't know about Sense8.

Sense8 was/is really good. It's a bit heavy handed at times with the LGTBQ/Trans angle.....but....all in all it's a killer idea for a series/show and the only real bummer about it was Netflix cancelled it after two seasons at a pretty significant point in the story.....then, after some fan kerfuffle and backlash allowed a feature film length episode to tie it all up. It was rushed obviously but you get an ending....but it'd have been cool to see it play out over a half season of episodes or so.

When I saw Reloaded in the cinema the first time - if anything I was more blown away than seeing the first one.

Much much later I realised it doesn't really add much to the overall story except for new characters that don't really do much.

One time - my brother and I watched all 3 movies back-to-back in one day. And yeah. Reloaded just sort of happens.

I've never thought that Revolutions was the worst one.

Also i wish i'd put money on part 4 being called Resurrections. To me it was the most obvious title. It's such a "Part 4 years later" title...

If a 5th, and possibly 6th film gets made, you can bet that one of them will be subtitled Revelations, just to finally get all the truth out there about the machines.

Gotta keep the "Re-" word titles consistent! :lol

I'd prefer if Resurrections ties up the Neo story and then they made the War of the machines prequels like The Animatrix short films but for real.

Plus Revelations is the 66th and final book of The Bible - to keep the religious analogies going.

Keanu is 57 !!!! Damn he looks after himself. I assumed he was only just 50 or something.

Mind you Gavin Harrison is slightly older and still looks really healthy and not "old"..

Also Gavin is a drummer so he always knows where The One is ;)

Just watched Reloaded last night.  Pretty sure that's the first time I ever saw it - as I recall it not getting positive reviews at all when it was released.  Plus, in 2003, my kids were only 3 years old, so there wasn't a lot of disposable time available.

Anyway, wasn't as bad as I feared (I kept expectations low).  Most of the fight sequences went on a little too long - we get it ... Neo can hold his own against a couple dozen Smith's.  And the 'celebration' sequence after Morpheus' speech was mostly unnecessary - very Wachowskian, that's for sure.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

A few years ago my brother and I watched all three films in one go. We found that Reloaded didn't really add much to the story overall.

It just added a lot of new characters that didn't really pay off in part 3.

The keymaker was only there to give Neo the key to the architect and The Merovingian was only there to give Neo the Keymaker.

The virus twins were superfluous. Persephone was only there to get neo to The merovinigan etc.

A few scenes from Reloaded could have been added to Revolutions and it might have made one better sequel.

The highway chase is great and the guy who played Bane did an amazing impression of Hugo Weaving.

But the "hell" fight was just the lobby fight from part 1 again but not as good.

Overall i still think The Matrix Trilogy is a better Trilogy than Any Star Wars sequels. By a long way.

And I'd rather watch the entire trilogy AND The Animatrix in one day than The Lord Of The Rings or The Hobbit.

Easily.

Wow...you and me both!

Having just rewatched the whole Matrix run, I remain convinced that the hype and anticipation worked against the sequels. While far from perfect, I find myself enjoying the trilogy more and more as the years pass and I'm able to view it outside the confines of the time surrounding its release.

The sequels didn't live up to the 1st film but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Most action sequels are just the first film again but MORE.

I'm gonna try and watch Resurrections as its own film and take it on it's own merits as I do with every film I watch. But man do I not want to be let down.

I'm expecting a soft reboot / remake in the style of Force Awakens / Tron Legacy / Jurassic World... Where it's sort of a sequel but it's basically just the first film again.

I would totally be up for this. Or even just 1 or more of the Animatrix shorts adapted into a series of films or a Television show.

Ralph Macchio is nearly 60, lol. He says he blames his genetics/parents per he doesn't even look 50.

i'm 43 and people tell me I look late 20s. But i've never touched cigarettes and I don't drink alcohol and I eat healthy :)

And I've still got a full head of hair which isn't thinning or receding. Which is kind of annoying cause it's nearly impossible to style it after a certain length.

I can't get nice long hair cause after a certain length it just goes all curly and f-ing annoying.  >:(

Oh yes THE MATRIX. Really hope it's good. :)

If this movie turns out good I'd be as surprised as I would be if flat earthers were somehow proven right. With the trailer and everything we know about the cast, I have zero excitement, but still gonna watch it at the theater out of respect for the original trilogy, just to tell my grand kids one day that I've watched all Matrix movies at the theater.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.
