Indeed.  Might even stay awake for all of it (wish I was in the Central time zone)

Oh, and when I saw the Jets and Giants scores, I knew we'd lose a lot of people here.  Who'da thunk?

Fucking London games.  I wake up and the damn thing is halfway through the third quarter.  I guess the idea is to get it over with before the 10:00 games start (and, in this case, it was two east coast teams that almost no one cares about), but holy hell!

I hate picking a west coast team on the road in the eastern time zone, but...

Panthers
Browns
Broncos
Bengals
Patriots

Rams

I've got a bad feeling about this....

I'm the same way. I try not to pick road teams and/or division games, but the Rams seemed like the best of my remaining options.

I don't mind picking a road team, but west coast teams historically don't do well on the east coast.  Or maybe that's just an old wives' tale that isn't really true.  Either way, the other games I was looking at didn't seem all that much better.

Fortunately, my concern about a west coast team on the road in the eastern time zone was quite unfounded.

I think generally, though, the idea is sound.  (Tangent:  I hate sports stats that are inexorably tied to betting; I'm not interested in the ROI on these games, just whether there's an advantage).

Yeah...all the gambling crap makes that hard to follow (what the heck is "units won," and what does "ROI" mean in this context?  I don't know and don't care).  So I did the research myself.

Here are the 2000-2020 road records of the Chargers, Raiders, 49ers, Seahawks (and, from 2016-20, the Rams) against teams in the eastern time zone:

Rams..............................11-5 (.688)
Seahawks........................34-30 (.531)
Chargers.........................30-40 (.429)
49ers..............................21-35 (.375)
Raiders...........................20-47 (.299)
TOTAL..........................116-157 (.425)

It is, I think, interesting to see that, over 21 seasons, the Chargers played 25% more road games against eastern time zone teams than the 49ers.

NOTE:  I did not take into consideration games played in London.

I guess the moral of the story is that the Rams have been remarkably good in eastern time zone road games, and the Raiders have been consistently bad (only four times during the 21 seasons did the Raiders have a winning record in these games).

That's awesome research.

I'd be curious to see the numbers for West Coast teams playing at 10AM PST/1PM EST, as I think that's a whole different animal than playing in the late afternoon or on Prime time.
