Sort of surprised Dark Tranquillity was even available. Kind of in the category of too obvious to pick for me, but this late in the game some times you have to bring out the heavy hitters.

Dark Tranquility are a bit of a blind spot for me fir sure. I've tried them over the years but they never stuck with me in the so many of their peers did.
Except that you've banned In Flames, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Soilwork and others. Not seeing DT was either a glaring omission or something about them didn't work in the past, which it sounds like you're saying is the latter. I don't really listen to many bands like Coheed, that's just a gap in my taste, justified or not.
Yea banned lists are funny things. In Flames, At the Gates and Arch Enemy are banned because I love them, however Soilwork are banned because I've listened to more than enough to know they do little for me. Dark Tranquility on the other hand, I've heard some, but not enough to say I really like or dislike them.
And no, it's never justified to have a Coheed shaped gap in your tastes!
