Beyond Skin is a great album, and The Blackening is killer.

Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine

It’s time for my annual “I’m going to listen to Devin and maybe I’ll get into him this time” project.

I expected this to be good because Tim recommended it but damn this is a potential number one of the year after only a few spins. The production is incredible and the songs are well balanced, some rippers and slower tunes that hit just right. Its raunchy, melodic, and catchy as fuck! Murder the summer of love, Derelict Palace, and Antisocialite are stand outs early on but the entire album kicks major ass!

Murder The Summer Of Love is amazing. Like I said, Everybody's Nobody is my SOTY.

Yeah, the guy is a great songwriter. His last few albums have been just as strong. He's been on a roll with some quality music.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Following the release of their first new music in 5 years I'm spinning Portal of I by Ne Obliviscaris.

It's weird, I feel like when I first joined DTF there was a real buzz around this band, and I'm pretty sure Forget Not wasdoing the rounds in rolettes. I know they were definitely one the early DTF recommendations I checked out. I think this album is OK, and the addition of violin is something that should probably gel with my tastes more than it does.

I posted about the new single in the Ne Obliviscaris thread the other day, I guess everyone is over this band  :lol I mean it has been 5 years!

I just saw they are touring and amazingly, they are stopping here. I decided to finally hear some of their stuff, and I am not going to miss them.
I don't know how they can be so proud of winning with them odds. - Little Big Man

Worm - Bluenothing

This album is just great. If you want some atmospheric, synthy death/doom metal then look no further. Just really fucking cool.

The Blackening is killer.

It really is. Every now and then it just floors me all over again!

Nice. I've only seen them live once, with Oceans of Slumber supporting. I'll be honest, I was there for OoS really, but NO were pretty good.

Kade, I really like Hanoi Rocks but he's actually getting better with age. Very catchy album.

It's really not for you. I think you made it barely 30 seconds when Murder The Summer Of Love was released. I can't see that changing.

I loved Hanoi Rocks as a kid, and he scratches an itch for me.

Diamond Head are an all-time favourite for me.  iI’m only vaguely familiar with the other bands you mentioned.

Listened to Scenes From a Memory in the car yesterday for the first time in a long while.  What an absolutely incredible, near perfect piece of art.  Just simply amazing.  Loved every second of it as much as I did when I first heard it.  It's hard for me to really find new great music when you have an album like this that's unmatched you can go back to and love all over again.

Angelo Badalamenti: Twin Peaks

Rest in peace. Thank you. Ouch. And extended thanks to Mike Portnoy for choosing Laura Palmer's Theme to open the shows on the Met2 tour. (which was my first DT tour aged 10)

I finally gave this a one over. No, just, NO. There was no reason this needed to be re-recorded. Not even close to the original, there's no energy compared to the original. Eric even sounds subdued almost like he wasn't into it. Tim, check out a few tunes, I'm curious what you think. The music is "fine" but the original is a masterpiece.

I would like to hear someone's opinion who never heard them before. Maybe Kade can "A/B" it assuming he doesn't know the original.
