On a Threshold kick today...first two and last two  :)

Incidentally, streaming services have the "Definitive editions" of Wounded Land and Psychedelicatessen. I had never heard the bonus tracks. Intervention on Wounded Land is clearly from the same sessions, while the other two (Conceal the Face and Shifting Sands) sound like they were early songs re-recorded later. As for Psychedelicatessen, the album itself sounds a bit different from the original CD I have...unless I'm remembering incorrectly, there are some additional bits here and there (harmonies and keyboards, mostly...), and the drums sound better. Interesting that they have Intervention again, as a bonus track, this time sung by Glynn. Also, the whole of Livedelica appears to be included (how good is Morgan's performance on Innocent??)

Ah, love the more "metallic" edge on Psychedelicatessen. And Wounded Land brings back good memories of that period. I always thought that album has certain "epic-doom" vibes in some songs...Days of Dearth, Mother Earth, Siege of Baghdad...they haven't revisited much of that sound going forward.

The harsh vocals on it are challenging, I must admit. Everything else about it is amazing though.

I'd put it up there as a 10 top melodeath album I think, or close to it.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

This is the re-recorded better version of Glass Mind. The first version I have on CD was horrific. This is well done old school prog metal. That flotsam album is excellent!

The F&J is awesome. That and No Place are my two faves. Troy Gregory! :metal
WTSCD has a razor thin production, but the drums sound awesome. One of my all time favorite air drumming albums.

The original. I honestly don't think I've ever listened to the rerecorded version.

As a new fan I really enjoyed the re-record.  Cool they got Poland on a couple of tracks too.

Funny enough, that's the only one of theirs I have on CD.  I bought it probably close to two decades ago, probably seeing it and recalling that Newsted was in that band at one point.

Poland is one of my favorite players, I'll have to look into that one.

I agree with Kade that the rerecorded is excellent! But, like you, I grew up with the original so that's my go to version.

Yep, this is great! I’m also fond of the Damn the Machine album…pity that was the only one (as far as I know, at least)

Been meaning to get to this.  This is some fantastic atmospheric doom/death, with a bit of trumpet, guest female vocals, and other spices.  "Murmur of Voices" and "Ecstatic Reign" are especially beautiful tracks.

Such a killer album, with the chromatic percussion, and especially Holdsworth's guest playing.

Hadn't listened to Halo in a little bit, and it's still great. A Rose for the Apocalypse from Draconian is too...I mean, they might not be one of those bands that blow you away, but there's no real misstep in their discography (pretty lengthy now!). As for Nothing In Writing - I posted in the relevant thread too - thanks Jammindude for the recommendation! Very, very easy on the ears...

I need to listen to Halo again to see how it fits into my year-end list, I just haven't been in the mood yet.

Yeah, Draconian has one of the more consistent discographies of any artist, though I'm partial to the last four.  Probably a bit too slow in tempo for most of the crowd here.
