Most of them I haven't heard more than once or twice, so I'm sure they could grow on me with more listens.  Draconian Times is by far my favorite and the most-listened to.  After that the standouts are Gothic and Host

That's a pretty cool mix...my top 3 is Icon, Draconian Times and One Second...

Yeah, I suspect any of the 90s or early 00s ones could rise on my list, I just don't remember anything in particular about them offhand unlike the three I mentioned.

I dont always listen to growly metal, but when I do, its Ghost of Perdition live at Red Rocks!  :metal

My son has been trying for months to get me into Opeth. (Funny he first heard Opeth when we were in my car listening to a "recommended" playlist based on my likes). He said "their new music isnt growly",  but it just wasn't clicking for me.
Until last weekend when I sat down and watched Garden of the Titans. Loving it! Its melodic, heavy, beautiful and the growls arent the entire thing.

I really love how Threshold still has that sound that reminds me of the old Magna Carta days. I’m really digging this album.

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

More 90's albums by 80's bands...

I think I can comfortably say that Riot is a Top 10 band for me.

Riot and Saxon's first albums were in the 70s though.

Yes, I am well aware of that.  ;D
They are two of my favorite bands and were instrumental in shaping my musical course in the early EIGHTIES!  :lol

Interesting stuff!Wilderun and Ghost are great, of course...I haven't checked out the new Worm EP yet, but their album last year was very, very good. Is the fourth one here something new from Afsky?

I can't keep track, which Worm are we talking about?  The US one that released Foreverglade?  Such a boring and generic name, only saved by other bands taking even more uncreative names, like Burial.  The album was good though last year.

The Worm EP is my first outing for the band, and yea it's pretty good. The last is Afsky. It's also an EP, and real short. Someone posted Ofte jeg drømmer mig død on the r/heavyvinyl subreddit, and it didn't disappoint, so thought I'd try their latest.

Just finished off another you like Nick (latest King Buffalo) now onto Spheres by Pestilence, followed by Ayam by Disillusion  :metal

That title track kicked my ass yesterday.

Nice! Yeah, I actually gave The Burden of Restlessness a spin a few days ago. That's my favorite of theirs (at least among the ones I know), but Regenerator is very good too.

Definitely check out Foreverglade by Worm...

Ayam is great...I recently pulled the trigger and bought it.

Already added the other two Worm albums to my ever-growing death metal playlist.

Ayam is so good. Am Abgrund kicks off the album in such a great way, there's something quite unique about that song.

For fans of Sigh, if they were rooted in hard rock and psychedelia, instead of black metal.
