Ring Of Fire - Gravity.

LINE-UP:
Mark Boals - Vocals
Vitalij Kuprij - Keyboards, Piano
Aldo Lonobile - Guitars
Stefano Scola - Bass
Alfonso Mocerino – Drums

Bullshit Ring of Fire line up.

Its not bad honestly. Its not Tony Macalpine but well done, nothing new stylistically, a lot of Vitalij wankery as expected.

I just can't buy it without TMac.  Even Bellas held his own when he was in the band.  I heard one song and it was shit.  Maybe I'll give it a chance at least.

Both such good albums, from 2019. Cellar Darling's The Spell is maybe a tad too long, but I'm not even sure of that. Very interesting sound, heavy, dark and melodic. And the vocal melodies at times almost bring me back to Mandylion-era The Gathering.

And the song Up North in Borknagar's album is freakin' epic. Absolutely fantastic.

It's just OK. Mark sounds good! Typical Vitalij wankery.

I've heard a few songs from Cellar Darling and liked them, but I need to check out a whole album sometime.  And I just need to spend more time with Borknagar in general, too much talent pooled together there to keep ignoring.

Cool! It’s pretty generic glam metal but it’s really enjoyable.

Yeah, I think this is a really strong album. It kind of feels like this album would have been a more natural progression after the first Skid Row album....(whereas Slave to the Grind was something more progressive). I know that is a fairly weird thing to say considering there is a 30 year gap...but the new vocalist is obviously full on channelling Sebastian Bach with his vocals and the songs give me that first Skid Row album vibe.

What do you reckon? It's not hitting me like Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava or Laminated Denim, but definitely could be a grower.

Yep, I think you'd like Cellar Darling...as for Borknagar, I should too. In general, I haven't gone too crazy when I tried but, for some reason, this album hit the spot. It might be time to revisit the older stuff.

lol tastes and everything, I guess, but this is my favorite thing they've done recently.  I was driving while listening, and totally grooved to it.

Such beautiful, relaxing music, and has been rocketing up my '22 charts as I've been binging through their discography again.

Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (remix/remaster)

Is there a noticeable enough difference from the original? It's my favourite Dimmu Borgir album so I should probably just shut up and check it out.

Yeah, there is.  I've only listened once, but it's definitely different than the original.

Brymir - Voices in the Sky

I mentioned this a few days ago...for some reason I keep going back to it...this album is a ton of fun  :) Melodic death metal from Finland with a definite epic/power metal attitude (those choruses!). Lots of sweet guitar leads too.

I'll fire it up then. I have no problem with how the original sounds though, it's not like it's a notoriously bad sounding album.
