Don't you guys have like an Australian Amazon?

Yep but this is an import from US Amazon.  With shipping will cost around 50 bucks!  :lol

Just buy the mp3 and burn it. It'll probably kill you to do that. :lol

I use Mp3va where albums cost fuck all, so I've got it.

I'd buy it digital from their bandcamp to support them anyway but main reason I'd like the CD is to listen without the gaps between songs.  I'll keep searching.

Kade, If you buy it from Bandcamp and download it in WAV format, burning it to CD will be gapless.

That's a decent idea actually Tom.  Haven't burned an audio cd in years.  I remember you used to get the slightest little gaps but maybe that's changed.

I still burn CDs from bandcamp wav files, its gapless. I burn with media player and winamp.

This is simply one of the greatest albums I've ever listened to.

Yes, this is really great but is very similar in sound and style to Ne Obliviscaris with a little bit of Fallujah thrown in. The heavy vocals sound identical to NeO.

NeO are a wonderful band, but this album trumps everything they have done, by far.

Yeah this is actually quite good. "Deranged dude yelling on top of jerky, dissonant black metal" is usually not something I enjoy, but the music has a strong atmosphere and is actually pretty melodic, and the vocals work well in this context, largely due to how well they sell the emotion of the lyrics.

I tried that An Abstract Illusion album too... might just need more listens but I wasn't feeling it much. That kind of 50% progressive metal, 50% death metal sound really needs memorable riffs to resonate with me, which seems like the exception rather than the norm these days.

How much is shipping from their bandcamp?

Seems with shipping it will cost me $30.30.  I'll take that.  Unfortunately the prepaid credit card that I use for online purchases got hacked and I have to wait 7-10 days for a new one.  Luckily the money on there is still safe as the hacked transaction was for more than what I had on the card.

Might order a shirt and their other album too.  I do hope though that the digipak is a decent one with a decent book, not one of those really thin flimsy ones.

The book is all of the lyrics and credits. No band pics.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Got my copy today - the artwork is nice, the packaging is nothing to be blown away by, but it's ok.

I actually took the time and listened to the CD on a nicer system. Powerful stuff, really. In the Heavens Above...is pretty insane - it has one beautiful moment after another. Just when you are thinking, wow this melody is great, you get hit by another goosebump-worthy part.

And Blomsterkrans...I mentioned it before but, man, it's gorgeous...that one-note piano pattern starting around 2:45 with the strings slowly swelling, and then the moment the drums enter around 3:45, with the clean guitars accenting the end of the measures...incredible stuff.

What's the concept about, by the way? Doesn't seem, um, very uplifting...

I was looking at the band lineup and they listed some session players, notably the drummer.
His name is Leith Ajob.

Which struck me as funny because the session drummer's name is literally...A job. :lol

I guess he actually plays in two bands...none of which has done much...

Maybe he'll join Abstract Illusion...and change his name from Ajob to Amember...

Ok, I'm leaving now...

Might still splurge on the CD, even though the package is pretty basic.

The concept seems to be about religious rape and sacrificing?  That's literally all I can get out of the lyrics.  I'd love some more insight though.

I have become addicted to the new CD from Nothing in Writing (ex-Odd Logic)

Sean from Odd Logic felt that that project was heading in a slightly more Opeth direction and decided that he wanted a different project for his more Enchant/King’s X/Kansas type of influences. I think he hit it out of the park. That CD is album of the year material for me. All 10 songs are awesome and I’ve been spinning it in the car for weeks.

I’m seriously toying with the idea of buying copies for up to five people on this forum with the only stipulation that they promise to listen to it at least five times and if they love it they need to buy one copy for someone else.

https://nothinginwriting.bandcamp.com/album/new-lives-for-rent

This is a great album...

Home Again is fantastic... :metal :metal
