This is one I'll probably end up purchasing.  The songs I've heard are stellar.  I actually didn't realise it was out already.

I mean, it's as "classic melodeath" as it gets, but everything works. Great main melodic theme, tasty riffs and that touch of melancholy that never hurts (love Stanne's performance too)

I'm on my first listen right now, this is fantastic.  Nothing new here, but this is sounding wonderful.

Just on my second listen and I've got to agree! I'd written off Arch Enemy (along with In Flames) as melodeath bands who would only release mediocre albums from here on out.

This album, along with In Flames latest singles, has proven me wrong.

That last minute of Handshake with Hell is so much  :metal :metal :metal

Not really.

I mean, I guess it was OK, and she certainly has impressive vocal range.  I had heard she had taken a heavier approach with this album, with more electric guitars and real instruments, and I guess that is true, but I doubt I listen to it again.  A little too angsty and fake-heavy, if that makes any sense.

Think I've only listened to one or two Pestilence albums, and this ain't one. I'll give it a spin.



Currently going through some of Elder's albums I've yet to hear. This is a really good one!

VAN CANTO - The Final Countdown and Master Of Puppets. All these year later I'm still not sure how I feel about these guys. I mean, its impressive yet goofy. I would love to see them live.  :metal :lol :huh:
